Ryan Morgan | Prep Hoops Scout
Had an incredible run to end his high school career, finishing as the only player in Puyallup school history to have scored 1000+ points and dished out 300+ assists. Was the engine behind a run to the 4A title game and while he did it by putting up big scoring numbers, he was a guy who had an effect across the board. Big energy, sneaky athlete, timely plays, and a guy who made his teammates better. Jones was easily one of the biggest risers of the year and recently received offers to play at Evergreen State and Northwest University, adding to a 2024 fall offer from Pacific Lutheran.

Drew’s memorable run with Puyallup through the 4A tournament was one that will be remembered for a long time. He won the 4A tournament MVP for carrying 8th seed Puyallup to the state championship. Jones hit some big shots for his team while providing a big spark with his energy out there. He has one of the smoothest mid-range shots in the senior class and is now, rightfully so, gaining college interest.

performance. He has the state on notice right now as they head into a semifinal matchup with West Valley today. He’s so explosive in and out of his moves, he shoots down lanes, can handle contact, and has been a true leader for Puyallup this season. He finished with 33 points, five 3PM, three rebounds, and three assists in the win over Mount Si.

The lightning rod guard paced Puyallup with 26 points in the win over Davis but his activity and pace also helped open up things for their guys down low and got them going. He has a mix of finishes he can go to and hit a tough baseline jumper to tie the game with 10 seconds left. He also went 8-of-9 from the foul line and provided three assists.

Jones is an exceptionally high-motor guard who has been the driving force for Puyallup’s big season. He continues to get better every time I see him, showcasing good athleticism, decision-making, and a comfortability in tight spaces that allows him to find room for shots that other players would pass up on. He’s dangerous from any spot on the floor and is a true catalyst with his effort on both ends of the floor.

Jones was one of the more impressive kids at the Fall Classic but it’s really no surprise at this point. He’s just a tough kid to cover 1v1 with his quickness and ability to attack either direction. He was consistently getting into the paint and to the rim, showed great creativity in the air to finish or dish, and was a playmaker on both ends of the floor.

Drew has had a great summer and has been playing the guard position at a very high level. He has a great feel for the game and knows how to set himself or his teammates up for easy buckets. His confidence has been rising and it shouldn’t stop as he has the talent to back it up on the court. Jones has a solid mid-range shot and rises above defenders with ease to get his shot off.
