Colston lit the event on fire yesterday as Kennedy looks to be one of the juggernauts in the MoCo Public School landscape once again in 2026-27. The reigning county POY settled in with an 18-point outing in game one as they defeated Hammond, but exploded for 42 points, including eight three's, in their convincing victory over St. Mary's Annapolis. The lead guard brings positional size at 6'3"-6'4" with range from the parking lot on his deep ball on/off the dribble. He used his frame against smaller guard to get to the basket and finish comfortably, but can absorb contact from rotating bigs if needed while maintaining body control

There aren't too many guards in the DMV wired to win the way that Gray is. As tough as they come, the 6'0" lead guard is battle tested, but will embrace the senior leadership role on a Bethel Academy team that boasts plenty of youth and new faces via the transfer portal. If there were any questions as to how he'd produce with his new surrounding teammates, he led DMV Live S1 scoring over 29PPG and picked up where he left off yesterday by pouring in 27 with a bevy of triples. He's a strong-framed driver that makes up for his lack of height with his ability to bully opposing guards to get to his spots. He maintains floor vision on paint touches and can make pretty much any pass he needs to off the live dribble. Defensively, he pressures the ball with lateral quickness, is a menace in the passing lanes and a plus rebounder for his position.

Big weekend for Mason Jr., who looks to be one of the better prospects in the MIAA B Conference this season. He uses his blend of length and wiggle to get to his spots inside the arc, but also showed some improved touch and creativity with his drives to the cup. Mason doesn't need to dribble ball to make his presence known as he showcased instincts as a mover without it, spotting up for catch-and-shoots that he converted with efficiency. His versatility bleeds over onto the defensive end where he could likely guard 1-4 positions throughout this season for head coach Sam Beverly.

Mason's backcourt mate, [player_tooltip player_id='2215677' first='Troy' last='Taylor'], is the other dynamic piece for the Quakers this season. He's been productive for years now in the MIAA B Conference and should take his game (and production) to new heights as Friends gears up for a run. Taylor has ability to play on or off the ball, but as games get tight, typically takes over as the primary initiator. When he's off the ball he's extremely effective on catches to attack closeouts. He's twitchy, able to use counters on the fly and can score it in bunches with balance from all three levels.

Hall made it clear that he was the best shot maker on this St. Mary's team yesterday. The 5'10" southpaw guard was raining three's on kick-outs and in transition off pull-ups that demanded not only his primary defender's attention, but the entire defense as a whole. He's not a one-trick pony and as the closeouts became aggressive with sprints, he put the ball on the deck and quickly made the right read to lead to a good shot. Hall has proven over the years that he can make shots at critical times in games and I see this season being no different for the rising senior.

It was my first time seeing Germain after I had heard a decent amount from the productive few months he's put together. There's a lot to like starting wtih his positional size around 6'2"-6'3" as a southpaw that can assume the primary ball-handling duties. He plays with good burst off his back foot and covers ground to establish advantages on drives. If he's left open around the arc, he can make you pay more times than not and his activity on the defensive end is going to result in plenty of transition run-outs for Pallotti this season.

The way New Town's roster is constructed currently, it's safe to say they'll be heavily in contention for the Class 3A state title. Massey will be a big piece of that puzzle thanks to his physical presence in the backcourt that also includes the ability to shoot it from the corners or attack the rim where he embraces contact on the way. He's a stout defender that takes pride in his individual assignment and showcased his athleticism in the open floor, which will be a common occurrence considering the chaotic, up-tempo pace the Titans will play with this winter.

Ayivor has been the straw that stirs the drink for AACS the past couple of years and as a senior, that sentiment will be even more true. He's a quick-twitch lead guard that thrives from the point of attack getting to the cup. He's able to finish with craft to avoid the arms of opposing shot-blockers, can use high-arching floaters in the middle of the paint and has shown progression with his shooting off the bounce. This was the case, once again, over the weekend and looking ahead to this winter in the MIAA B Conference, there will be plenty of intriguing backcourt matchups as teams try and throw the kitchen sink to contain Ayivor.

Desire put together a productive two days at the Warm Up and caught the attention of college coaches along the baseline with his steadiness as a combo guard alongside [player_tooltip player_id='2454538' first='Bruiser' last='Edwards'] in Howard Blue's backcourt. The 6-foot rising senior is looking to be a main cog once again this winter for the reigning IAC champs as serves as a valuable playmaker for both himself and others. He's been tested in many different high-level environments throughout his high school career, so nothing seems to shake him, but when Prep needs a bucket he can create in isolations from the wing to generate a good look from 17 feet and in. He sees the floor well in transition and on drives with sound processing as a passer to bigs along the baseline or shooter spotting up in either corner.

Lee is spending his post-grad prep year at West Nottingham academy where he'll be a primary offensive option alongside 2028 [player_tooltip player_id='2441539' first='Mazari' last='Browne']. At 6'4" he has the size to switch from the guard or wing slot and the presence as a floor-spacer to not only create opportunities for others, but the ability to knock down triples in volume. He's becoming more dynamic off the bounce as time progresses and uses his frame to will his way to the rim when his defender is able to react off his initial step. He's going to be expected to put up big numbers if the Rams want to win games, which should cause for a growth in his overall skillset as he can be an attractive target for scholarship programs.
