Ari Rosenfeld | Prep Hoops Scout
West Nottingham took a tough loss at the hands of Phelps’ prep team, but Browne nonetheless managed to continue a hot start to his repeat sophomore year. With 16 of his 22 points in the first half before the deficit got too wide, he showed his smooth multi-level attack while staying consistently aggressive within the flow of the offense. Known primarily as a jump shooter, the Baltimore native knocked in a lone 3-pointer but really impressed with a series of knifing drives to the rim, displaying improved ball skills and finishing prowess. We’d like to see a bit more from him in the floor game moving forward, but Browne’s blend of natural scoring instincts with elite positional size makes it easy to see why he’s so highly-regarded as a prospect.

Browne makes his debut in the 2028 rankings thanks to his transfer and decision to reclass at West Nottingham. The move should benefit both Browne and his new school pretty significantly as the 6-foot-5 wing is just scratching the surface of who he can become. With good size, plus length, and fluidity within his movement as a hybrid forward, the verstatiltiy that Browne can offer at both ends is what makes the ceiling so high. He flashes some loud, needle-moving skills within his toolbox, but the next step is bringing a consistent, aggressive motor to the floor every time he’s under the whistle.

-The dynamic G/W tweener is really starting to put it together at WNA after his reclass and transfer from Mt Carmel. Browne can put the ball on the floor, hit perimeter shots, and is much more adept at playing through contact on his drives to the rim. Love the strides that we’ve seen from him as a play-maker both off the bounce and from the wings. Think Browne has a ton of upside as a potential 3+D wing prospect that can plug and play with pretty much anyone at the next level.

-Liked the character shown to overcome a rough start in the 1H to almost score 20 points in a matchup with a physical and veteran Fork Union PG group. Browne’s improvements to his ballhandling ability are noticeable and he’s also moving much smoother off the bounce. His pocket pass from the volleyball line to a cutting big and a drive and kick for a corner 3 that competed a comeback from 20+ points down in the 1H to as little as 6 at the end of the game. His ability to create for himself off the bounce from the 3 point line as well as the midrange also stood out as impactful improvements that should make him a key piece for WNA this year as a rising sophomore. If he is able to continue to mature and approach games with a growth mindset– I’d expect him to develop into a T5 local prospect by the time he graduates.

Browne was one of the most complete players at the event. He did a little bit of everything for his WNA (MD) squad. He scored the basketball at all three levels and with efficient with his output. He has a nice blend of size and length that he used to his advantage. Brown is comfortable scoring from mid-range spots. He makes West Nottingham go and is one of the better sophomores in the prep school ranks.

-Probably the top performer the event because of the different ways that he was able to score throughout the two games (played in both the ’27 and ’28 showcase). Grabbed his own rebound and laid it up several times in traffic, good adjustment in midair to hit a double clutch lay— showing much better motor and touch around the rim along with a willingness to play through contact and post up smaller defenders. Browne hit a stepback 3 in transition, snatchback 2 from the top of the key, and scored off 4 putbacks in the first half alone. Handle has improved to allow him to race defensive rebounds the other way in transition. Needs to improve his bag of moves/decision-making outside the three point line in transition to take advantage of his positional size and get all the way to the rim against quicker guards looking to swipe away a steal.

Browne is a threat to make and athletic play in the blink of an eye and finds ways to play above the rim. He got into a rhythm from behind the three point line and converted several three point shots. Browne’s ability to be an offensive catalyst was shown often for Team Thrill . He also showed that he could make plays for others with his passing and found teammates in good spots on the floor.

Brown is a smooth 6’4 prospect out of Mount Carmel, really has had a strong overall weekend here in Baltimore. He has been a true offensive weapon on the court, displaying IQ and feel, patience in being able to create, and flourishing as a prospect that he can be a true playmaker and shot maker at a high clip. Brown made his mark off the dribble, picking, weaving, and attacking downhill to get to the rim and finish with touch. Does a great job of getting where he wants and being an efficient presence knocking the perimeter jumper at a consistent rate.

-Browne is a prospect oozing with upside that figures to pop onto radars this spring as a wing that can do a bit of everything. Although I wouldn’t call him a primary, Browne can handle it well enough to get past his opponent and to the rim in the halfcourt but he excels as an off-ball mover that can knock down perimeter looks with good positional size. Defensively he has improved quite a bit both on and off the ball, allowing him to switch out on the perimeter while remaining an effective weakside shot-blocker.

Part of a talented nucleus for Thrill on the 15U level last summer, Browne is back to lead this year’s version with stated plans to reclass back to 2028. He stands out immediately with his positional size and graceful athleticism, having added a couple inches to his wiry frame over the past year. As the featured perimeter scorer for Thrill’s 15s, he spent time playing both on and off the ball, impressing most notably with his balanced footwork, polished mechanics, and soft touch on a handful of smooth midrange jumpers. He capably spaces the floor to the arc off the catch as well, and is able to use his length and quickness defensively to both opposing guards when he’s locked in on that end of the floor. The talent really jumps off the page here when Browne gets going, with the potential to attract interest up to the high-major level in years to come.
