10p 10r 1s 2b vs Warriors HGSL
-My first viewing of the future SFA Panther in his new home gym as Hurt performed well with a good Melo group that executed their way to a big win. Hurt is a strong forward prospect that does the dirty work on the glass, sets physical screens, and plays well through contact around the basket. He showed off the footwork on a spin move lay off the window, threw down a big 2-handed dunk off a short roll, ripped away a rebound from a defender in traffic and laid the ball up before his teammates could react, and showed nice touch on hook shots with his right hand. Loved how he didn’t just rely on his size to come up with rebounds and instead did his work early on the glass by fighting to get to the weak side short corner to collect misses. Should carve out a nice role for himself as a forward prospect that keeps the game simple and dominates some of the more “boring” aspects of the game that others ignore because of their effect on winning.

First viewing of Hurt here over the weekend and the 6-foot-7 forward has a lot of tools to work with. A big-bodied forward who uses effective footwork on his block catches, but also showed high-level feel on his catches on the baseline playing 10-to-15 feet from the rim where he can attack off a couple of dribbles and maintain good court vision to deliver dimes to cutters or cross court skips to shooters spotting up on the wing/corner. Hurt also brings more athleticism than the eye test would lend and he showed that with a two-hand flush off a dump-off pass that he threw down with some authority.

This sophomore post player shows a strong foundation with good hands and footwork in the paint. He is capable of scoring efficiently around the rim and can step out to knock down midrange jumpers. Hurt rebounds well in his area and understands positioning on the interior.

brings physicality to the paint every time he steps on the floor.
A strong, dominant interior presence, Hurt rebounds at a high rate and finishes through contact consistently. He embraces physical play and establishes deep position early, making him tough to contain on the block.
What’s encouraging is how well he moves for his size. He’s not just a stationary big — he runs the floor and competes on both ends. His mobility paired with his strength gives him intriguing long-term upside.
Hurt was a key piece for Henrico this season and continues to trend upward. As he refines his footwork, his potential grows. By expanding his offensive game, he could become one of the more impactful bigs in the class.
He’s a name that coaches and evaluators will want to become familiar with sooner rather than later.
