Bates enters the rankings and quite frankly, he should've been in for at least a year now as the 6-foot combo guard can get buckets in a variety of ways. He made the choice to transfer to Coolidge, who will let their skilled guards such as Bates play freely, but also maintain some structure within a half court setting. He's crafty in the open floor, has a bag of counters in isolations to help create space in 1-on-1's and the confidence to let it fly off the bounce. His new environment should suit him well to showcase the strengths of his offensive skillset while expanding his approach as a playmaker and force him to play with more controlled pace.

Wood makes his debut coming off of a productive junior season at Guilford Park. He carried that production and flash over to his spring season with [program_tooltip program_id='2077005' first='Team' last='Thrill'] MHC as he brings a nice blend of size, versatility and athleticism to the lineup. He was named First Team All-County as he averaged 15.6PPG and 8.4RPG, but looks to take another big step as a senior for the 2026-27 season. In July, he'll focus on continuing to catch the eyes of DIII programs, with his latest roster spot offer coming from Stevenson, the word is beginning to spread as Wood remains somewhat under the radar. He has the size, skillset and ability to act as a valuable connective piece that will have programs kicking themselves for not getting involved with him sooner.

Massey made quite the impression on us during the EBA Pre-Live Warmup as he looked primed to play a big role for New Town in Baltimore County as a senior. Another tough-nosed guard like Bates above, Massey is prepared to step into an involved role for the Titans as a needed secondary playmaker on the perimeter and a guy who can pose as a legitimate three-level scoring threat off the catch. Not only can he knock down three's with space, Massey can also get to his spots in minimal dribbles or resort to straight-line drives where he has the pop to finish above the rim with some authority. New Town should be considered serious, if not the clear favorites in Baltimore County and looking beyond at a competitive Class 3A field of teams, they should have a great chance of making a run as MPSSAA Tournament play rolls around. Massey will be a big piece of that puzzle.

Whitaker is another welcomed addition to the rankings as another prospect who demanded our attention at the EBA Pre-Live Warmup with his ability to anchor the inside for Reservoir. He has dependable hands when he's along the baseline/dunkers spot with good footwork stepping into passes from penetrating guards that he can catch and quickly get up over the rim with two. His game away from the rim is a work in progress, but showed comfort in hitting jumpers with time and space. Most importantly, his pursuit on the glass and willingness to run the floor with purpose should allow him to have a big year for the Gators as they look to make a splash in Howard County.

Ezeaputa has quietly been one of the more productive prospects in Baltimore County for the last couple of years. It speaks to his versatility and filling out the box score as he flirts with a double-double pretty regularly. He's a versatile hybrid forward who has developed perimeter skills since getting into high school, but maintaining his hardhat approach to grabbing boards, altering shots around the rim and even tallying assists making the extra pass. We'll wait and see what Perry Hall will look like within the Baltimore County landscape, but one guarantee is they'll have a chance to stir things up with the production that Ezeaputa supplies.

Perry Hall will have a few weapons to work with this season in Ezeaputa and Smith among others. These aren't new faces for the Gators, but entering the season as senior leaders brings a new energy and confidence to the group that should help them rattle off a few big wins in county play. Smith prides himself on the defensive end of the floor and looks to cause havoc harassing opposing ball handlers or being a menace in the passing lanes. His offensive game continues to round out as he brings a nice balance as a playmaker, orchestrator in the half court and a scorer when his number is called. He'll be one of the big pieces to success for Perry Hall this season.

Chance and Whitaker form a duo that could end up making some noise in Howard County this winter. A crafty, quick-twitch lead guard who is impactful from the point of attack, Chance can expose the slightest of driving lanes and slither his way to the rim for scoop finishes. He has the confidence and ability to quickly rise up after getting his defender on their heels for three's. He brings a sense of tenacity and toughness to the defensive end that allows to dictate tempo and energy of the game. There are times when his emotions can get the better of him, but it can also breath life into his teammates and help sway the momentum of a close matchup.
