-Germain has really shined in offseason play as a bucket-getting southpaw prospect that will play a big role for the Panthers in his senior season. Germain creates his own shot effectively from the top of the key and has improved his footwork to become a much better movement shooter that can knock down perimeter jumpers behind pindowns. Love that–although he is an efficient scorer– he doesn’t settle for jumpers and uses that shooting gravity to get downhill to score at the rim with or without a ball screen. Germain has a chance to be one of the best scorers in the MIAA this season.

It was my first time seeing Germain after I had heard a decent amount from the productive few months he’s put together. There’s a lot to like starting wtih his positional size around 6’2″-6’3″ as a southpaw that can assume the primary ball-handling duties. He plays with good burst off his back foot and covers ground to establish advantages on drives. If he’s left open around the arc, he can make you pay more times than not and his activity on the defensive end is going to result in plenty of transition run-outs for Pallotti this season.

-First time seeing Germain and came away impressed by how easily he puts the ball in the hole while also showcasing a diverse shot diet. The lefty guard gets to his spots in the halfcourt for paint floaters and elbow pull-ups but is also a confident off-ball shooter that doesn’t need much airspace to get off a clean look. Germain scored off a BLOB face cut to earn FTs, secured a rebound and threw a baseball pass over the top for an assist, and hit a huge contested 3 to go up 4 late in the game to give Pallotti a lead that they would not surrender down the stretch. Loved his moxie and tenacity when face-guarded or double-teamed by opponents on ball screens, as he did not surrender an inch and delivered the correct passing read to a teammate.
