Louisville's regional play will continue with the semifinals of the 7th Region tournament tomorrow night at Valley followed by the 6th Region tournament semifinals Saturday afternoon. Widespread talent across the city made for an entertaining regular season but eight remaining teams must now survive and advance to represent Derby City at the UK Healthcare Boys Basketball Sweet 16. Headlined by several nationally recognized prospects, the final four fields are set but the favorites to win are unpredictable. With so many possibilities, here are my tournament MVP predictions from each remaining team if they were to be crowned the 6th/7th Region Champion.

Heath is one of the best point guards in the state and he's seemed to have approached the post season with a chip on his shoulder. Having transferred from DuBois and enduring a season-ending injury before his junior campaign even began, Heath seeks his first trip to the Sweet 16. He posted 18 PTS and a team-high 5 AST as Butler stunned rival PRP in the 6th Region quarterfinals and could be the X factor for the Bears moving forward. Paired with fellow 2026 standout [player_tooltip player_id='2647506' first='Adrian' last='Wilder'], the scoring duo has the goods to get Butler to Rupp in a few weeks.

DuBois made history Tuesday night after winning its first 6th Region tournament match since the program joined the KHSAA in 2022. The Lions now seek a bid to the state tournament which might be possible behind Brown. As the 4th leading scorer and best isolation player in Kentucky, he's wreaked havoc on competition all season long. Athleticism, handles, crafty finishing, outside shooting ability, playmaking, high IQ... you name it, Brown's got it. With 850+ points on the season and counting, Brown will be a tough cover for anyone who has the assignment.

Selected as the KABC 6th Region POY and thus, a Kentucky Mr. Basketball finalist, Harrison has been one of most consistent players in the state. JTown covets its fourth trip to the Sweet 16 in only five years, and they'll need Harrison to do what he does best to get there. Pairing a lighting quick first step with a profound understanding of angles, he gets to his spots with ease. Combine that with a comfortability in the midrange and an ability to make plays for his teammates. JTown is arguably the most reasonable 6th Region champion favorite and "Day Day" is largely responsible.

Dominant on both the football field and the hardwood, Bischoff has humbly been one of the best athletes to walk the halls of DeSales. In the same school year that he became the Colts' all-time leader in career passing yards, he's surpassed 1,000 career points on the court and counting. As one of Kentucky's premier shooting specialists, he currently ranks 3rd in the state in 3-PT FG per game (4.1) and 5th in 3-PT shooting percent (48%). That along with sneaky athleticism, Bischoff is a name to watch this weekend if he can get going early.

Featuring KABC 7th Region POY [player_tooltip player_id='1563823' first='Jeremiah' last='Jackson'] and dominant 2026 PG [player_tooltip player_id='1901830' first='Jermaine' last='Cameron'], St. X has several guys that can go off. Josh, however, has been on a tear as of late, leading the Tigers in the month of February with 16.8 PPG and 4.2 RPG on 58% overall shooting. Although one of the most athletic players in the nation, those who've followed his game this season understand that he's evolved to be much more than just a dunker. Josh has the means to knock down shots at a high rate and his ability to create space off the dribble is just as underrated.

After a prep stint at Wasatch Academy in Utah, Johnson has picked up where he left off since returning to Trinity. As a skilled big wing with advanced ball handling and shot making abilities, the D1 prospect doesn't have many flaws to his game. There was a bit of an adjustment period, but the Shamrocks are rolling at just the right time, led by Johnson and 2027 standout [player_tooltip player_id='2389668' first='Garrison' last='Gilvin']. The reputable duo is one of the best in the state and could very well be the head of a sleeping giant that has awakened in the 7th. Johnson will enter tomorrow's semifinals averaging a dominant 19.4 PPG with 45/41/84 shooting splits.

Although only a freshman, Grivna is a matchup nightmare for every team in the state. Ballard barely escaped Male on Tuesday night in a top-notch quarterfinal showdown but it was an assist from Grivna that sealed the deal. He'll enter tomorrow's game averaging 16.5 PPG and 9.3 RPG on 69/49/73 shooting splits. Surrounded by an ample supply of elite shooting options in 2026 WKU signee [player_tooltip player_id='1359140' first='Cole' last='Edelen'], 2028 standout [player_tooltip player_id='2529549' first='Baron' last='Clay'], and fellow 2029 [player_tooltip player_id='2459420' first='Qyntin' last='Woods'], teams have struggled to defend the three while balancing the attention that Grivna demands.

At this point in the season, Manual can expect a loud double-double from Ahmad every game. Though the Crimsons typically deploy a balanced approach, Shelton and 2028 PG [player_tooltip player_id='2965783' first='Dario' last='Harper'] have emerged as a legit duo. Dominant on the boards on both ends of the court, Shelton's 12.4 RPG outweigh all others that remain in the 7th Region field. He also possesses the ability to put the ball on the floor and finish around the rim at a high rate. With Shelton's two-way presence on the court, the Crimsons can't be counted out.
