Expert Analysis
Doneah Marshall | Prep Hoops Scout
Heath is one of the best point guards in the state and he’s seemed to have approached the post season with a chip on his shoulder. Having transferred from DuBois and enduring a season-ending injury before his junior campaign even began, Heath seeks his first trip to the Sweet 16. He posted 18 PTS and a team-high 5 AST as Butler stunned rival PRP in the 6th Region quarterfinals and could be the X factor for the Bears moving forward. Paired with fellow 2026 standout Adrian Wilder Adrian Wilder 6'4" | SG Butler | 2026 State KY , the scoring duo has the goods to get Butler to Rupp in a few weeks.

As expected, Heath displayed enough poise in a tough road environment for Butler to come out on top. With shots struggling to fall for the Bears at times, Heath stepped up in big moments, including a go-ahead 3-pointer with 30 seconds left in the 2nd quarter to put Butler up 2. He finished with 10 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals.

Heath has led an admirable senior campaign after missing his entire junior year with a severe leg injury that occurred during Butler’s Beardown Jamboree last preseason. While operating as the primary floor general for a veteran Butler squad, Heath has also manages to contribute 11.5 PPG. Expect Heath to control the tempo for the Bears tonight.

Brandon missed his entire Junior season after a gruesome injury last preseason but he’s back now and is being mentioned as one of the potential Regional Player of the Year candidates in the 6th region. Heath is both quick and fast and has become a reliable shooter over the years. He went from 60th to 52nd in this update.

Brandon is back from an injury that cost him his entire Junior season. Coming off a good AAU season, Heath rises from 76 to 60 overall and according to my conversations with Coach Geary, it sounds like Heath could be in the mix to be the 6th region player of the year and fill up the box scores every night out. Excited to see Heath back on the floor for the Bears this season.

Heath transferred to Butler last year but was injured in the preseason and didn’t play last year. Brandon is very impactful and leaves his fingerprints all over the games. He’s capable of running an offense, scoring and taking on the challenge of guarding the other team’s best player.

One of the most dynamic playmakers in the gym on Saturday, Heath proved why he is considered one of the more talented rising senior guards in Kentucky. The Butler High School prospect really stood out with his quickness, ability to change direction with multiple dribble moves, and create shots for himself and others. Heath made some jump shots from the perimeter, but what at his best when attacking the basket and getting a piece of the paint. He is definitely one to follow in the Louisville area.

Heath missed the season after an ankle injury at the preseason jamboree but I’m hopeful he is going to be back to 100% for the AAU season. Brandon was quick and effective at getting paint touches last season and hopefully will be back to that this summer.

Heath impacts the game on both ends. He attacks the basket and can finish in traffic by utilizing his lethal floater. He is a reliable shooter from 3-point range as well. His active hands and anticipation force turnovers that often lead to transition points.
