A potential stock riser for the month of July, Gilvin had a strong June with Ballard after leaving Trinity. Garrison is a crafty scorer who can get buckets efficiently. He’s recently started playing more off the ball than on it and has gotten more comfortable alongside Junior Baron Clay Baron Clay 6'3" | PG/CG Ballard | 2028 State KY at Ballard. Able to switch and guard multiple positions, Gilvin has a lot of potential to sign at the scholarship level.

Garrison is one of the more impactful players in the class with the way he can fill up a stat sheet in ways other than scoring. Ballard will be a tough out with a lineup featuring Mason Grivna Mason Grivna 6'11" | C Ballard | 2029 State #2029 Nation KY , Baron Clay Baron Clay 6'3" | PG/CG Ballard | 2028 State KY , Qyntin Woods Qyntin Woods 6'1" | SG Ballard | 2029 State KY and now Gilvin. Capable of playing on and off the ball, Garrison should provide another good shooter and playmaker for a tough Ballard squad.

Ballard played a tough back and forth game with Ben Davis that went down to the wire with Ballard taking the lead with 30 seconds left, Ben Davis took the lead with ten seconds left before Gilvin took it coast to coast at the buzzer to win the game. Gilvin is a connector piece from the wing guard position who makes toughness plays and doesn’t let the ball stick to his hands. While Gilvin holds a pair of offers, I expect his recruitment to take a spike before July ends as he should be a top priority recruit for regional Division II and NAIA programs.

Griffin Elite is loaded with talent and Gilvin is a top-notch baller filled with intrigue. Garrison does a little bit of everything to help his team be successful. He is versatile and skilled. Gilvin plays great off two feet and he hoops with a high IQ. Expect a great week at The Stage.

Gilvin was one of three players to finish with double figures in Griffin Elite 17U’s Friday night matchup over the weekend. As one of Kentucky’s top juniors, he’s proven to be a high-level player with one of the most complete games in his class. He has an advanced understanding of the game and pairs it with quick instincts to put himself and his teammates in positions to succeed. His ability to apply tight ball pressure and use his quick hands to force deflections stood out in the contest.

Gilvin is, in my opinion, the best player in the 27 class that never gets talked about with the rest. Garrison does a ton for Trinity. He scores, he rebounds and he creates for others. Not to mention how hard he guards the ball. He also posted 50/40/79 shooting splits on the season. With a big AAU season, Garrison could earn his first scholarship offers.

Gilvin put up a double-double in the win over Clay on Saturday and was efficient in doing so. Garrison was only 1/4 from range but he was 6/9 on twos and led the Rocks in rebounding too. Garrison plays with a great motor and is showed as he was a difference maker.

Climbing nearly 20 spots from 36th to 17th in this update, Garrison has quickly gone from unranked to top 20 and hasn’t show signs of slowing down. A bigger guard who can play on or off the ball on offense and really knows how to defend on the other end, Gilvin has been one of the biggest stock boosters this AAU season on our Prep Hoops Circuit.

Louisville Trinity graduated a lot of depth from last season but their two leading scorers return and form one of the better wing guard duos in all of Kentucky. Gilvin has been a standout on the Prep Hoops Circuit in the spring and continued his impressive play with his high school program in June. Gilvin does an excellent job of using pump fakes and playing off balance. Gilvin also was impressive finishing in traffic, using his strong frame to get a couple and-1 layups.
