There are a ton of really good guards in the Indianapolis area and there is no question about it. One of the more underrated yet productive guards you will find in that area is 2026 prospect [player_tooltip player_id='1988137' first='Roosevelt' last='Franklin'] from Geroge Washington High School. For the Continentals, everything they do runs through Franklin which has resulted in him averaging 22.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.3 steals, and 2.7 assists per game as of this time of writing. He is an aggressive guard that likes to attack the defense but has the ability to knock down jumpers as well.

The Terre Haute North Patriots are once again one of the top Class 4A teams in the state with guys that give them a lot of versatility on the floor. The guy on the Patriots with perhaps the most potential out of any of them is 2027 wing [player_tooltip player_id='2425772' first='Tyler' last='Renn']. At 6'6, Renn is a true mismatch player that can be a playmaker at all levels of the floor with great moves off the bounce. The rest of this year, going into the summer, then into his senior year, Renn could be one of our top breakout players in the 2027 class.

For the 2nd week in a row, we once again feature a top three prospect in the in-state 2028 class with this one being Penn guard [player_tooltip player_id='2457404' first='Caleb' last='Coolman'] this time around. Just as it was during his freshman year, Coolman is once again viewed as the guy for the Kingsmen being the most prospective player on the floor for them. Coolman is starting to Gian some D1 interest more consistently with his ability to score and be an elite playmaker. This week, you can watch him when Penn travels to Michigan City this Friday.

3 Teams

Crown Point (4A) – Class 4A has already proven that it is going to be a dog fight for the northern part of the state with a few teams that, on paper, separate themselves from the pack. The Crown Point Bulldogs are one of those teams that have a legit chance to win it all this season. Coming in 2-0 this week, the Bulldogs are once agin led by their senior 1-2 duo of [player_tooltip player_id='1561445' first='Mason' last='Darrell'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1561617' first='Dikembe' last='Shaw'] with a great supporting cast of [player_tooltip player_id='1561016' first='Bryce' last='Peters'], [player_tooltip player_id='1561063' first='Kingston' last='Rhodes'], [player_tooltip player_id='2140433' first='Reid' last='Kaegi'], and many others. They were not able to face Carmel last week due to weather, but they have a chance for another big win vs Munster on Friday.

Cathedral (3A) – We all know by now that Silver Creek is viewed as the favorite in Class 3A, but right now you can make a legit argument that Cathedral may be the team that could be cutting down the nets come March. Coming into this week 4-0 with wins over Jeffersonville, SBSJ, Brebeuf Jesuit, and Warren Central, there may not be a team with a more impressive resume than the Irish. Senior guards [player_tooltip player_id='1561135' first='Keaton' last='Aldridge Jr']. (19.0 ppg) and [player_tooltip player_id='1561435' first='Julien' last='Smith'] (17.3 ppg) are leading the team in points thus far. They will look to remain undefeated when they travel to Arsenal Tech on Saturday.

Barr-Reeve (1A) – Heading into week four, there are a few teams starting to earn some notice in Class 1A with one of those teams being the Barr-Reeve Vikings. Coming into this week 4-0 that includes a 20 point victory over defending Class 1A champs Orleans and Class 4A Terre Haute South, Barr-Reeve will have two key matchups vs North Knox on Tuesday and Vincennes Lincoln on Saturday. For the Vikings, it is sophomore guard [player_tooltip player_id='3148411' first='Jaylon' last='Graber'] leading them with 16.0 points while they are also getting production [player_tooltip player_id='3045017' first='Kierson' last='Lengacher'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2797665' first='Braxton' last='Neidigh']. Based on what we have seen thus far, Barr-Reeve could be a favorite in Class 1A.

3 Matchups

Fishers (4A) vs Hamilton Southeastern (4A) – Dec. 19th, 7:30 pm

I think we can safely say that the biggest rivalry game this week will take place in the annual "Mudsock" game between Fishers and Hamilton Southeaster. In a game between two teams that are right down the road from one another, this game will once again take place at the Fishers Event Center, which should be a great environment just as it was last season. The Tigers will come in led by their big three in [player_tooltip player_id='2267046' first='Jason' last='Gardner Jr.'], [player_tooltip player_id='2140345' first='Cooper' last='Zachary'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1509229' first='Kai' last='McGrew'] with HSE looking to match them with guys such as [player_tooltip player_id='2472620' first='Landon' last='Osswald'], [player_tooltip player_id='1561009' first='Luke' last='Weemer'], and [player_tooltip player_id='2559521' first='Varschon' last='Clark']. This game will be a physical one and one of the more intense games either team will play this season. Fishers should win this one, but HSE could get the surprise win, as well.

Sullivan (2A) at Parke Heritage (2A) – Dec. 19th, 7:30 pm

The biggest matchup up at the Class 2A level this week will come on Friday with the Sullivan Golden Arrows going on the road to face the state championship favorite Parke Heritage Wolves. The matchup to watch here is without question between Sullivan's [player_tooltip player_id='1561438' first='Cooper' last='Bock'] and PK's [player_tooltip player_id='1560965' first='Treigh' last='Schelsky']. Sullivan will also have to deal with PK's [player_tooltip player_id='2272232' first='Isaac' last='Pickel'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2140339' first='Carter' last='Crum'] but have guys such as [player_tooltip player_id='2807644' first='Paul' last='Ridgway'] and Kane Thompson that could step up. This should be a really game at the Class 2A level this week. Give me Parke Heritage to win.

Tri-State Winter Classic, Dec. 20th, 2:30 am - 8:30 pm

The best single day shootout of the week will take place down in Evansville Bosse this Saturday. Teams from multiple areas across the state will go down to Evansville and will feature five really good matchups. Below is the lineup and predictions (In bold).
