Of the four sectionals in Division 4, Sectional 4 is by far the deepest and contains the most individual talent. With [player_tooltip player_id='2194315' first='Dooney' last='Johnson'] at Milwaukee Juneau, [player_tooltip player_id='2127267' first='Zaihir' last='Jones'] at Dominican, [player_tooltip player_id='1561958' first='Donovan' last='Cowley'] at Roncalli, [player_tooltip player_id='2509457' first='Jordan' last='Evans'] at Living Word Lutheran and [player_tooltip player_id='1561878' first='Gannan' last='Schwartz'] at Winnebago Lutheran, Sectional 4 could win an All-Star game against almost every other sectional, regardless of class, in Wisconsin. In addition to standout individual talent, Sectional 4 features stellar teams with Howards Grove, Kohler, Manitowoc Lutheran, Roncalli and Winnebago Lutheran in the top half of the bracket and Cedar Grove, Dominican, Living Word Lutheran, Milwaukee Juneau and The Prairie School in the bottom portion of the sectional.

Following is a look at the top players and teams in Sectional 4:

Top Five Players in Sectional 4
[player_tooltip player_id='2194315' first='Dooney' last='Johnson'], 6-5, Jr., G, Milwaukee Juneau
[player_tooltip player_id='1561878' first='Gannan' last='Schwartz'], 5-10, Sr., G, Winnebago Lutheran
[player_tooltip player_id='2127267' first='Zaihir' last='Jones'], 6-3, Jr., G, Dominican
[player_tooltip player_id='2509457' first='Jordan' last='Evans'], 6-2, Soph., G, Living Word Lutheran
[player_tooltip player_id='1561958' first='Donovan' last='Cowley'], 6-3, Sr., G, Roncalli

Five Breakout Performers in Sectional 4
[player_tooltip player_id='2045272' first='Takis' last='Tyler'], 5-11, Sr., G, Milwaukee Juneau
[player_tooltip player_id='2224528' first='Owen' last='Gulke'], 6-1, Sr., G, Cedar Grove
[player_tooltip player_id='2420137' first='Dominik' last='Frozena'], 6-6, Sr., F, Roncalli
[player_tooltip player_id='2736852' first='Mohammad' last='Badwan'], 6-2, Jr., G, Salam
[player_tooltip player_id='2614867' first='Owen' last='Birschbach'], 6-5, Soph., F, New Holstein

Top Five Teams in Sectional 4

1. Milwaukee Juneau -- Torre Johnson takes over the coaching duties at Milwaukee Juneau at a good time. His son, Dooney, is a top 50 recruit nationally in the class of 2027 and headlines a very talented returning crew that won the Gold Division title in the Milwaukee City Conference a year ago. In addition to the all-around talent of [player_tooltip player_id='2194315' first='Dooney' last='Johnson'], Juneau welcomes back three-year starter Tyler at point guard, athletic senior [player_tooltip player_id='2400094' first='Jaden' last='Hardiman'] (6-3) at forward and promising sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2530851' first='Corey' last='Collins'] (6-7) in the post. The Pioneers will be the preseason No. 1 team in Division 4 and they have the talent, experience and hunger to back it up.

2. Roncalli -- Always a difficult team to beat no matter the season, the Jets have three starters returning from a 24-3 squad in Cowley, Frozena and junior sharpshooter [player_tooltip player_id='2416199' first='Maddix' last='Gulseth'] (6-2). Cowley averaged 18.6 ppg and 7.6 rpg while Gulseth contributed 14.1 ppg and Frozena 9.3 ppg and 5.3 rpg. Seniors Aiden Jorgensen (5-10), [player_tooltip player_id='2815488' first='Dominic' last='Thiele'] (5-11) and Carter Kilbridge (5-11) also return for coach Josh Erickson. Look for sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2615537' first='Tre' last='Cliff'] (6-0) to make a big impact as well as the Jets set out to defend their Eastern Wisconsin Conference championship.

3. Manitowoc Lutheran -- One of the favorites to win the Big East North Conference crown in 2025-26, Manitowoc Lutheran has four starters returning from a 15-11 club. The one loss -- guard Derek Laabs (16.6 ppg) -- is a significant one to overcome, but coach Scott Loberger still boasts plenty of experience with seniors [player_tooltip player_id='2499881' first='Wesley' last='Hecker'] (6-0), [player_tooltip player_id='2386216' first='Will' last='Franzen'] (6-2), [player_tooltip player_id='2920452' first='Noah' last='Dillon'] (6-2) and [player_tooltip player_id='2815318' first='Isaac' last='Wagner'] (5-10) leading the way. There is good depth as well as seniors Jaymen Ott (6-2) and [player_tooltip player_id='2816676' first='Isaiah' last='Muchka'] (5-9) both earned substantial playing time off the bench last winter.

4. Dominican -- A lot of eyes will be on Dominican this winter as Nick Ford opted to leave one of the biggest schools in the state -- Fond du Lac -- in order to accept the coaching position at Dominican. He inherits a traditionally strong program that moves from Division 3 to Division 4 with three starters back from a 17-9 squad in Jones (18.4 ppg) along with seniors [player_tooltip player_id='2728593' first='Amare' last='Nixon'] (6-4) and point guard Demetrius Taylor (5-9). Toss in seniors [player_tooltip player_id='2842203' first='Ethan' last='Moore'] (6-3) and [player_tooltip player_id='2613201' first='Brandon' last='Applewhite'] (6-1) and the Knights have a strong core to turn to when facing the rigors of competition in the Metro Classic Conference. Freshmen [player_tooltip player_id='2850469' first='Reed' last='McGivern'] (6-3) and [player_tooltip player_id='2845408' first='Davion' last='Powell'] (6-3) also could be factors for Ford's first team at Dominican.

5. The Prairie School -- The depth in Sectional 4 is outstanding when you consider the defending sectional champions -- The Prairie School -- rank no higher than fifth in the preseason rankings for the 24 teams in the grouping despite brining back four starters. Indeed, coach Jason Atanasoff's squad could very well emerge with another sectional crown behind the improved play of his young core that includes juniors [player_tooltip player_id='2140901' first='Chandler' last='Perry'] (12.3 ppg), [player_tooltip player_id='2508284' first='Dalton' last='Ahlensdorf'] (11.5 ppg) and [player_tooltip player_id='2508306' first='Ryan' last='Vanoss'] (9.4 ppg) along with sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2503099' first='Emmett' last='Wassil'] (7.0 ppg). The Hawks might also boast a good senior leader in guard Nolan Grebb (7.6 ppg).

Sleeper Team

Cedar Grove -- The Rockets surprised everybody last March by advancing all the way to the sectional final before falling to The Prairie School, 61-58. Three starters and two double-figure scorers return for coach Jake Hock, led by Gulke, a physical 6-foot-1 guard who averaged a team-high 19.3 ppg as a junior. Carter Schmitz (17.1 ppg), [player_tooltip player_id='2822671' first='Thomas' last='Wiesner'] (5.5 ppg) and Griffin Knight (6.5 ppg) are also back for Cedar Grove
