Although somewhat small in stature, Schwartz’s play on the basketball court always looms large. A physically strong and extremely point guard with very deep shooting range to go along with the ability to zoom past defenders with his speed, Schwartz is averaging 31.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists for Winnebago Lutheran. He went for 24 points, eight rebounds and six assists in a win over state-ranked Sheboygan Lutheran before tossing in 38 points, snaring six rebounds and handing our four assists in a loss to another state-ranked team, Wisconsin Flyway Conference rival Lomira. Schwartz is a very good leader in addition to his being one of the more consistent performers in the state’s 2026 class.
Schwartz was a problem for defenses all weekend, spacing the floor with sharp off-ball movement and timely cuts. Always shot-ready on the perimeter, he punished defenders who dared to help off of him. His off-ball IQ created scoring opportunities for teammates, and he added toughness to the guard spot with his physicality and focus.
Gannan is as tough as they come at the lead guard spot. Defensively he works hard pressuring the ball, fights to get over screens, and seems to come up with one or two charge calls each game as he’s so good at positioning himself to draw contact. On the offensive end he’s an unselfish player who keeps the ball moving and can handle it well when put under pressure. Even at 5’10 he’s a strong finisher at the rim as he knows how to draw contact and keep his chin at the rim to help him finish.
Schwartz was a key playmaker for Winnebago Lutheran, displaying sharp court awareness and a reliable jumper. His quick decision-making and ability to control tempo gave his team a steady offensive rhythm. He put up 15 points, 5 assists, and 2 steals per contest. Schwartz delivered a standout 25-point game against Saint Mary’s Springs, hitting multiple mid-range jumpers and orchestrating the offense with confidence and flair.
Like Prochnow, Schwartz plays bigger than his height and competes with a tremendous feel for the game. His speed, confidence and uncanny ability to use the glass while finishing off drives with baskets over taller defenders was on full display for All-Wisconsin in its loss to D1 Minnesota 17U. He is a good long-distance shooter, handles the ball with ease and can push the ball in transition. One of the better point guard prospects in the state’s 2026 class, Schwartz had a big junior campaign for Winnebago Lutheran, averaging 22.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.7 steals en route to earning Player of the Year honors in the Flyway Conference.
A quick-on-quick lead guard who competes with outstanding ball handling skills and strong court vision, Schwartz has deep shooting range and can pull the trigger from well beyond the three-point arc. He finished with a game-high 28 points and drilled five three-point shots in the loss to Xavier while also doing a yeoman’s job of taking care of the ball. Schwartz is somewhat limited by his size, but there is absolutely no questioning his speed, skill and shot making.
Gannan is as tough as they come at the point guard spot. He’s not going to put up big scoring numbers for this All Wisconsin team, but he’s a true floor general who’s going to set his teammates up and play scrappy defense. There’s just no quit in his game, and that showed against Illinois Attack where he turned the ball over, and instead of pouting and jogging back, he instantly turned and sprinted to strip the ball back. Gannan is an absolute pest defending the ball who doesn’t give opposing point guards a moment of rest.
I really liked what Gannan brought to the table as a true point guard for his team. He is a very trustworthy ball handler and maintained composure when faced with pressure. He is a hard worker, flying around the floor to come away with steals, tipped passes, and loose balls. He is a well rounded scorer as well, as he can shoot it from deep and is tough to stop when getting to his floater which he used often. Schwartz also has excellent vision and was great at getting his teammates involved.
