Sherman scored just two points in the first half Friday as he was content to use his passing ability and court vision to set up his teammates. But in the second half, Sherman got it going offensively. And when that happens, it usually means making shots from deep. The backcourt ace from Shorewood did just that, swishing four big shots from outside the arc to help All-Wisconsin rally from a double-digit deficit to close within a couple of points late. Sherman, who can play either guard spot but seems to be trending toward being a true point guard, finished with 18 points.

Sherman embraced the role of silent assassin, quietly torching defenses with a smooth stroke and effortless shot preparation. His calm demeanor belied a deadly jumper that made him a consistent threat from deep. Whether in transition or during broken plays, Sherman found ways to get open and made defenses pay.

A wire-to-score backcourt player with a quick release from well beyond the three-point arc, Sherman is a supremely confident player who can knock down shots in the blink of a eye. A quick player with the ball in his hands, Sherman is aggressive in hunting scoring opportunities. He can be difficult to cover at times as he can launch shots from all over the floor while also using his speed to beat defenders off the bounce. As a junior at Shorewood, Sherman averaged 14.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists while playing for coach Chris Robinson and the Greyhounds.

Sherman was a distributing machine.
The 2026 guard’s court vision and shot selection was a catalyst for his teammates on Saturday. Sherman’s ability to shoot it from range spaced the floor for the Greyhounds. When getting downhill, he was prolific in the mid range area and finished with either hand at the basket.

Another sniper in the 3v3 format, Sherman got hot and hit four threes from around the top of the arc. He mixed in drives and passing, while also converting a nice step-back in the midrange off of penetration. Sherman also showed the ability to finish through contact, converting on an “and one” on a take to the hoop.

Sherman provided good pace for team 6. He had the ball on a string in the open floor and when driving the lane. His head was on a swivel when drawing help defenders. He was able to stop on a dime and create clean looks for himself on the offensive end.

is averaging 13.7 points in his freshman campaign. He projects as a score first combo guard that can create separation. He’s best utilized coming off screens and dribble handoffs. He’s solid in catch and shoot situations, showing confidence and quick decisions on his shot. His three point range is impressive. Jake can shoot 3-4 feet behind the three-point line, showing collegiate potential. His vision is developing as he adjusts to the high school game. I’d like to see him attack the hoop more in isolation situations, especially when the three point shot isn’t falling.
