A look at the state's top 17U squads through the weekend of May 16-18. If you have corrections to any of the records — getting full results is often a challenge — please email me at mark@prephoops.com

STARTING FIVE (Alphabetical)

[program_tooltip program_id='2480703' first='24:' last='UP'] Under Armour Rise (15-8)
Pewaukee sharpshooter [player_tooltip player_id='2391091' first='Tyler' last='Tiutczenko'] (6-7) continued his strong play this spring while leading [program_tooltip program_id='2480703' first='24:' last='UP'] to a 3-1 mark on the UA Rise circuit in Ohio. Tiutczenko flashed his willingness to bang for rebounds in the paints while also drilling perimeter shots at a high rate for coach DJ Mlachnik's crew. Waterford's [player_tooltip player_id='1561893' first='Caden' last='Gustafson'] (6-4), Saint Thomas More's [player_tooltip player_id='2500051' first='Omar' last='Fofana'] (5-11) and Greendale's [player_tooltip player_id='2677080' first='Zavier' last='Castillo'] (6-3) also had strong moments for [program_tooltip program_id='2480703' first='24:' last='UP'].

[program_tooltip program_id='2076433' first='Kevon' last='Looney Power 5'] 3SSB (9-13)
A tough weekend for Power 5 as it went 0-4 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on the Adidas circuit. Power 5 was without two of the players who performed well for the squad earlier this spring as [player_tooltip player_id='1959723' first='LaMont' last='Hamilton'] (6-0) of Racine St. Catherine's is injured while [player_tooltip player_id='2045256' first='Yusef' last='Gray Jr.'] (6-3) of West Allis Central recently left the program for [program_tooltip program_id='2391400' first='Team' last='Herro']. [player_tooltip player_id='1561889' first='Amare' last='Hereford'] (6-2) of Beloit Memorial and [player_tooltip player_id='1561939' first='Ethan' last='Joling'] (6-6) of Hortonville had some strong moments for Power 5 in Iowa.

[program_tooltip program_id='2391400' first='Team' last='Herro'] EYBL (13-8)
[program_tooltip program_id='2391400' first='Team' last='Herro'] split its four EYBL games in Memphis over the weekend. Herro beat Expressions and PSA Cardinals while dropping contests to Houston Hoops and Boo Williams. [player_tooltip player_id='2045301' first='Vaughn' last='Karvala'] (6-7) of Oregon scored in double figures in each of the four games for [program_tooltip program_id='2391400' first='Team' last='Herro']. He made 11-of-30 shots from three-point range over the weekend. [player_tooltip player_id='2045256' first='Yusef' last='Gray Jr.'] (6-3) of West Allis Central went 0-for-6 from outside the arc in Memphis, but he did have 10 rebounds in one game and got to the foul line 20 times in four contests. [player_tooltip player_id='1561888' first='Josh' last='Manchester'] (6-4) of Mount Horeb had three games in double figures, including a 17-point outing in a loss to Houston Hoops. [program_tooltip program_id='2391400' first='Team' last='Herro'] is back on the EYBL over Memorial Day weekend as the circuit moves to Kansas City.

[program_tooltip program_id='2076218' first='Wisconsin' last='Playground Club'] Under Armour Association (19-3)
This club is really on a roll and might be playing the best basketball of any 17U squad in the state. Playground went 4-0 at the Under Armour Association event in Ohio to move to 19-3 on the season. Playground beat Nova Village (60-48), P7 Elite (73-53), Riverside Hawks (69-62) and SW15H Elite (66-50) under coach Damon James. Wisconsin recruit and DME wing Tre Fenderson (6-5) played well as did Wisconsin Lutheran wing [player_tooltip player_id='1552512' first='Zavier' last='Zens'] (6-7), who picked up an offer from Wyoming. Also performing well was 2025 forward [player_tooltip player_id='1500914' first='Jaydon' last='Awe'] (6-9) of Stevens Point.

[program_tooltip program_id='2076033' first='Wisconsin' last='Playmakers'] New Balance Prelude32 (16-3)
The Playmakers made the long trek to Dallas and performed well on the New Balance Prelude circuit, winning all four games. Superior's [player_tooltip player_id='2045262' first='Calvin' last='Anderson'] (6-6) was cited for strong play for the Playmakers, who won all four outings by double figures. [player_tooltip player_id='1973149' first='Chris' last='Pohl'] (6-8) of Marshfield averaged 17 points and five rebounds in the four outings while shooting 58 percent from the floor. [player_tooltip player_id='2045266' first='Mike' last='Wilson'] (6-3) of Madison West and [player_tooltip player_id='1561874' first='Nathan' last='Ramus'] (6-2) of Appleton North also showed well for the Playmakers.

THE NEXT FIVE (Alphabetical order)

[program_tooltip program_id='2076501' first='Chapman' last='Basketball Academy'] Gold Elite Puma NXT (12-4)
Another strong weekend for CBA Gold Elite on the Puma NXT circuit as they finished 4-0 in Wichita. Germantown's [player_tooltip player_id='2116495' first='Cahlil' last='Jones'] (6-2) probably is the most intriguing prospect on the squad due to his size, quickness and athleticism. [player_tooltip player_id='2498966' first='Darrius' last='Peete'], also of Germantown, is a very good defender and another standout prospect for CBA Gold Elite.

[program_tooltip program_id='2076501' first='Chapman' last='Basketball Academy'] North Elite (16-4)
This group of almost exclusively Sheboygan County standout continues to get it done week after week. CBA North Elite went 4-0 at the NY2LA Next Level Invitational in Indianapolis, winning each contest by at least 20 points. Plymouth's [player_tooltip player_id='2045263' first='Kayden' last='Schultz'] (6-3), Oostburg's [player_tooltip player_id='2117025' first='Jamison' last='Zavatchin'] (6-6) and [player_tooltip player_id='1970502' first='Cade' last='Dirkse'] (6-2) also performed well.

[program_tooltip program_id='2076023' first='Wisconsin' last='Academy'] -- Hibner (17-7)
The fantastic duo of [player_tooltip player_id='2025184' first='Wes' last='Rahn'] (6-8) of Lakeside Lutheran and [player_tooltip player_id='1561944' first='Jacob' last='Hibner'] (6-2) of Stoughton did its thing at a high level for [program_tooltip program_id='2076023' first='Wisconsin' last='Academy'], which went 4-0 in Indianapolis. Both players continued their stellar spring showings by scoring at a high level and leading their team to one victory after another. Rahn and Hibner have multiple NCAA Division II offers and have plenty of collegiate coaches tracking their movements this spring.

[program_tooltip program_id='2512324' first='Wisconsin' last='Legends'] (12-3)
For the second week in a row, the [program_tooltip program_id='2512324' first='Wisconsin' last='Legends'] took the weekend off. They return to action at the Prep Hoops Wisconsin State Tournament May 30-June 1 at the Champion Center in Appleton.

[program_tooltip program_id='2078835' first='Wisconsin' last='Swing'] Bredesen Recruit Look (12-12)
This club has played a difficult schedule against teams from all over the Midwest and beyond this spring. It's taken some hits at times, but the group continues to compete and has registered some impressive wins. The Swing went 2-2 at the Recruit Look event in Kansas City during the live period with wins over Southern Assault Tacoma and Oklahoma Chaos Bruner. Elkhorn's [player_tooltip player_id='2492565' first='Luke' last='Paddock'] (6-3) had a few strong performances for the Swing in KC as he has extended his stellar high school season into the club season.
