Friday Regional Final Notebook

Friday night there were regional champions crowned in all four classes across the state of Illinois.  Here we examine who won and some of the top performers in our Friday Regional Final Notebook!   Alton topped Edwardsville on their home floor in the trilogy 55-47 to advance.  Hassani Elliott had 12 points while [player_tooltip player_id='2376270' first='Semaj' last='Stampley'] went for 10 points.  Edwardsville senior caps off a fantastic senior season with 22 points.   Lemont cruised to a 84-46 win over Morgan Park.  Star [player_tooltip player_id='1552393' first='Gabriel' last='Sularski'] along with fellow wing [player_tooltip player_id='2321410' first='Alanas' last='Castillo'] each dropped 20 while the third musketeer of this Big 3 [player_tooltip player_id='2105174' first='Matas' last='Gaidukevicius'] had 17.   Whitney Young moved on to the sectionals against CPS rival Lincoln Park 50-47.  Top 2026 guard [player_tooltip player_id='1552475' first='Marquis' last='Clark'] had 16 points while seniors [player_tooltip player_id='1545124' first='Damajay' last='Richardson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1385300' first='Antonio' last='Munoz'] each had 11 points.   Simeon topped St. Ignatius in overtime 57-51.  Top 10 junior [player_tooltip player_id='1552394' first='Andre' last='Tyler'] led the way with 18 points while big man [player_tooltip player_id='1439013' first='Julien' last='Doyle'] had 14.  In his final high school game Northwestern commit [player_tooltip player_id='1385292' first='Phoenix' last='Gill'] went for 20 points.   Breese Central got the double overtime win over Columbia 57-55 on a steal and bucket by Conlan Haar as time expired.  Griffen Becker went for 21 points in the win with [player_tooltip player_id='1618009' first='Kaden' last='Rakers'] going for 12.  Bellarmine commit [player_tooltip player_id='1568153' first='Sam' last='Donald'] caps a great career with 26 points while junior [player_tooltip player_id='1790001' first='Eddie' last='Smajic'] had 13.   Bolingbrook won easily over Metea Valley 87-58.  Massive game from both of their stars as [player_tooltip player_id='1385301' first='JT' last='Pettigrew'] had 32 points and 13 rebounds.  Super sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2323624' first='Davion' last='Thompson'] went for 22 points.  Standout freshman [player_tooltip player_id='2531973' first='Brady' last='Pettigrew'] continues to shine as he had 16.   Downers Grove North put an end to West Aurora's winning streak with a 52-45 victory.  [player_tooltip player_id='2217947' first='Bobby' last='Grganto'] had 20 points to lead the way.  Jack Richtman and [player_tooltip player_id='2415415' first='Jack' last='Crowley'] each had 9.   Rolling Meadows won 53-40 to move on behind Marquette commit and top senior [player_tooltip player_id='1385299' first='Ian' last='Miletic'] who dropped 15 points while [player_tooltip player_id='2321417' first='Lazar' last='Lazarevic'] also had 15.   St. Laurence won 70-44 over Nazareth as [player_tooltip player_id='1550741' first='Jacob' last='Rice'] had a big game of 21 points and 11 rebound.  [player_tooltip player_id='1766462' first='Zerrick' last='Johnson'] is a physical guard that can really attack.  Purdue Ft Wayne commit [player_tooltip player_id='1766461' first='EJ' last='Mosley'] had 9 points and 10 dimes.   Kaneland got the 66-56 victory over Wheaton Academy.  [player_tooltip player_id='2391706' first='Freddy' last='Hassan'] continues to tear it up with 23 points and 14 rebounds.  [player_tooltip player_id='2426006' first='Isaiah' last='Gipson'] had 17 points while [player_tooltip player_id='1552428' first='Marshawn' last='Cocroft'] went for 14.  [player_tooltip player_id='1401824' first='Tyler' last='Smith'] notched 14 for Wheaton Academy while sophomore big man [player_tooltip player_id='2125634' first='Hayden' last='Schroeder'] had 10.   Metamora defeated Morton in one of the most highly anticipated games of the night.  [player_tooltip player_id='2321401' first='Ashton' last='Grieves'] led the way for Metamora with 16 points while Bradley commit [player_tooltip player_id='1545146' first='Matthew' last='Zobrist'] had 12.  [player_tooltip player_id='1232827' first='Wes' last='Gudeman'] dropped 16 points to cap off a great career.   Curie got the W on their home floor against Hinsdale Central 62-57.  [player_tooltip player_id='2734369' first='Justin' last='Oliver'] has had a massive junior season as he went for 27 while [player_tooltip player_id='2452415' first='Brad' last='Johnson'] had 10.  Dillion Orozco paced Hinsdale Central with 17 while Eric Kozys had 16.   Rich Township won against Lincoln Way East 74-67 with wing Nyshawn Turner going for 19 in the victory.  [player_tooltip player_id='2734366' first='Jayden' last='Williams'] had 19 and [player_tooltip player_id='1766460' first='Al' last='Brooks'] Jr notched 18 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.   Kenwood advanced over Oak Lawn 78-72.  [player_tooltip player_id='1385283' first='Aleks' last='Alston'] had 25 points while [player_tooltip player_id='2321397' first='TJ' last='Seals'] went for 23 points.  In his last high school game [player_tooltip player_id='1766472' first='Donte' last='Montgomery'] left it all out there with 42 points.  One of the best uncommitted bucket getters in the state.   Warren scored the win against McHenry 58-45.  Top 3 sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2323571' first='Jaxson' last='Davis'] was a star recording 23 points while senior [player_tooltip player_id='2291830' first='Javerion' last='Banks'] went for 9.  Junior big man [player_tooltip player_id='1552440' first='Adam' last='Anwar'] had 15 points heading into a big spring for him.   Joliet Catholic won over Chicago Christian 81-61 as [player_tooltip player_id='2400463' first='Jayden' last='Armstrong'] had 21 points and Jack Superitis notched 15.   Rock Island went on the road to score a 63-60 win against Moline.  [player_tooltip player_id='2823476' first='Lawson' last='Zulu'] had 24 points while sophomore point guard [player_tooltip player_id='2712818' first='Deven' last='Marshall'] went for 15.  The senior duo for Moline never gave up in this one as [player_tooltip player_id='1545138' first='Braden' last='Freeman'] had 20 points and [player_tooltip player_id='1545132' first='Treyvon' last='Taylor'] finished with 16.   Sycamore moved past Belvidere North 59-44 as Xander Lewis went for 13 points while Michael Chami had 11 and Unique Shaw notched 10.   Maybe the biggest upset of the night was Aurora Christian taking out Yorkville Christian 68-48.  Jacob Baumann led the way with 27 points with Preston Morel going for 17.   Chatham Glenwood won over Lanphier 44-39 in the battle of Springfield.  Big man [player_tooltip player_id='2538879' first='Mason' last='Neumann'] had 12 points while future first round MLB Draft choice [player_tooltip player_id='2815576' first='Cameron' last='Appenzeller'] had 11.  The Lanphier dynamic duo finished off their careers with [player_tooltip player_id='1545135' first='Shaunassey' last='Hatchett'] going for 12 and [player_tooltip player_id='1385295' first='JaiQuan' last='Holman'] scoring 11.   Montini won their regional on Friday night 64-43 over IC Catholic. Robert Sansone went for 23 in the win. Lane Tech won 67-57 over New Trier.  [player_tooltip player_id='2300370' first='Zach' last='Mazanowski'] led the way with 22 points with [player_tooltip player_id='2297870' first='Matthew' last='Szafoni'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2724328' first='Drew' last='Bartolai'] each netting 14.  New Trier got a massive game from top 10 junior point guard [player_tooltip player_id='1554516' first='Christopher' last='Kirkpatrick'] with 29 points.  [player_tooltip player_id='1385306' first='Colby' last='Smith'] had 19 in his final high school game before heading to Wash U.   Mt. Carmel blew out Glenbard South 65-26 behind one of the better unsigned guards in the senior class [player_tooltip player_id='1385307' first='Cameron' last='Thomas'] who dropped 26.   Stevenson moves on over Schaumburg 53-45.  [player_tooltip player_id='1552481' first='Rocco' last='Pagliocca'] had a big outing with 15 points.  [player_tooltip player_id='1564889' first='Aidan' last='Bardic'] dropped 12 points.  For Schaumburg it was [player_tooltip player_id='1598733' first='Jordan' last='Tunis'] who finished his senior year with 16.   Hyde Park got a narrow victory of 56-54 over Lindblom.  Kamrin King had 14 points and 10 rebounds while [player_tooltip player_id='2724415' first='CJ' last='Thomas'] scored 13.   North Lawndale moves on against Dunbar 84-75.  Arnez Jones dropped 30 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.  Tomorion Smith went for 16 points. Illini Central won 46-37 against Medon Unity as Brody Folkes went for 23 points including his 1,000th point of his career. Annawan got the 67-38 W against Forreston.  Maddux Heitzler had 16 while Brady Heitzler scored 14 in the win.   Waukegan won 73-57 against Libertyville. Simereon Carter had 21 points while [player_tooltip player_id='1845356' first='Jaali' last='Love'] dropped 19 and [player_tooltip player_id='1552444' first='Carter' last='Newsome'] scored 16.   Teutopolis had a 50-49 victory over Fairfield.  [player_tooltip player_id='2815765' first='Drew' last='Hoene'] went for 11 on the T-Town side while Justice Dagg had 18 for Fairfield.   Rock Falls won 61-58 to move on in 2A as Kuitim Heald drained a three for the win while scoring 28.   Mt. Glenbard East moves on with a 59-49 victory against Proviso East with Michael Nee leading the way with 24 points and [player_tooltip player_id='2411580' first='Jacob' last='Marynowski'] going for 9 points and 16 boards.   Tuscola defeats Casey 57-54 with Kam Sweetnam dropping 21 points while Sawyer Woodard had 14 points and 9 rebounds.   Marist advanced against Sandburg 73-60 with point guard [player_tooltip player_id='2323300' first='TJ' last='Tate'] leading the way with 20 points.  [player_tooltip player_id='1552436' first='Karson' last='Thomas'] had 14 while [player_tooltip player_id='2375627' first='Marquis' last='Vance'] went for 13.   Rockford Guilford won over Rockford East in a matchup of familiar foes.  Braden Chatman had 20 points while Rockford East was led by [player_tooltip player_id='2105424' first='Brian' last='Harper'] with 11.   Marian Catholic won 81-64 against Perspectives with [player_tooltip player_id='2321398' first='Zack' last='Sharkey'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2723815' first='Delan' last='Davis'] each having big games of 25 and 20 points respectively.   Top 1A squad Pecatonica rolled over East Dubuque 67-43.  [player_tooltip player_id='1874685' first='Brody' last='Black'] had 30 points with [player_tooltip player_id='1874696' first='Cooper' last='Hoffman'] chipping in 21.  Brody Culberson and Aidan Colin each had 12 in the loss.   St. Viator wins their regional championship 49-35 against Grayslake North.  [player_tooltip player_id='2125608' first='Dawson' last='Charles'] had 18 points while [player_tooltip player_id='2751053' first='Jacob' last='Only'] went for 10.   Lake Forest doubled up Vernon Hills 50-25.  [player_tooltip player_id='2538995' first='Grant' last='Mordini'] and Dominic Mordini each had 12 points while [player_tooltip player_id='2538856' first='Hudson' last='Scroggins'] finished with 8 points and 11 rebounds.   Kankakee moves on easily over Sterling 85-50.  The top junior in the state [player_tooltip player_id='2105360' first='Lincoln' last='Williams'] had a massive outing of 31 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 steals.  Fellow 2026 Kenaz Jackson poured in 21 points as well.   Benet got a scare from Oswego East, but won 49-40 with SIU commit [player_tooltip player_id='1598682' first='Daniel' last='Pauliukonis'] pushing them notching 20 points.   Sherrard got a 75-64 win against Orion with a school record 45 points from Rylan Carton.  Orion was led by Kyler Owens with 25.   Danville Schlarman won against La Salette 61-52 with Jerrius Atkins going for a big night of 32 points.   Okawville scored a 43-35 victory against Christopher as big man [player_tooltip player_id='2105204' first='Aidan' last='Anderson'] had 18.   Brother Rice continues to roll along as the CCL power won against Brooks 66-35 getting 20 points from wing [player_tooltip player_id='2538898' first='Jack' last='Weigus'].   Centralia won over Herrin 61-43 with [player_tooltip player_id='2751256' first='Archie' last='Goewey'] going for 23 points and Herrin senior [player_tooltip player_id='1432422' first='Kyrese' last='Lukens'] capping his career off with 16 points.   Bloom got a narrow win against Joliet West 50-46 as sophomore big man [player_tooltip player_id='2749967' first='Xavier' last='Martin'] had 12 points.  Top uncommitted small forward [player_tooltip player_id='1766497' first='Zion' last='Gross'] finished with 17.
