The hot hand has carried over from last weekend. Colby Smith Colby Smith 6'3" | PG New Trier | 2025 State IL opened the Curie game with back-to-back triples. After the perimeter defense became more rigorous, smith shows an excellent ability to attack the rim inside while making plays for others. A pass off a double team lead to a great assist chance before the half (missed FT). Also displayed a smooth touch attacking the rim. Unfazed by contact and drew several shooting fouls.

The New Trier combo guard finished with 25 points in a strong morning showing against Thornton. Never lost his confidence as the game progressed. Found the net from all three levels. His footwork has also improved.
