Antonio Munoz
About Antonio
Expert Analysis
Steve Parham | Prep Hoops Scout
Munoz was the lone senior on this team that’s been in many heated and competitive CPS tournaments. The Dolphins needed his energy and momentum-breaking plays. Antonio had a statement play early with a reverse alley-oop dunk that had the whole arena buzzing. The rest of the way he relied on playing hard getting to loose balls and hitting the glass to keep possessions alive for Whitney Young. Munoz’s energy and effort helped shrink Kenwood’s lead a few times because he’s a versatile defender who can cover all positions on the court and he’s uber athletic so he can change their shot any time he’s near the ball. Antonio ended the game and his CPS career with 12 points, 9 boards, and 3 steals.

Munoz got off to a great start in the first half of their contest against Webster Groves. He came out aggressive impacting on both ends along with the glass. Threw down several big dunks showing off his big time athleticism. Was very active as a rebounder both clearing on the defensive end along with getting put backs offensively. Got to the free throw line at a good clip and even hit a corner three for 21 points.

A top unsigned senior in the state who put on an acrobatic show at times in this game. Munoz is known to have that second gear and athleticism around the rim. He scored several baskets off highlight dunks and tough finishes. On defense he high-pointed several boards and rejected a few shots. It’s amazing how someone this gifted is still on the board. Antonio finished with 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 blocks.
