Flyin' To The Hoop is annually the biggest high school event in Ohio as it draws teams from across the country and some of the most talented prospects in Ohio and in the nation. In this article we'll break down the Monday games from the event.

Lima Sr Vs Pace Academy (GA) 11:30 A.M.

Lima Sr had a young roster last year and went though some growing pains. I expect them to be one of the top teams in Ohio with [player_tooltip player_id='2140877' first='Shawn' last='Foster'] leading the way as a Sophomore alongside Detroit Mercy commit [player_tooltip player_id='1475110' first='Jekel' last='Cotton'] and transfer [player_tooltip player_id='2376402' first='Willie' last='Foster']. The Spartans are no strangers to this event and are looking to get a win against a Pace Academy squad led by Chandler Bing (not the Friends character).

Toledo Whitmer Vs Combine Academy (NC) 1:15 P.M.

Another northwest Ohio powerhouse meeting up with a southern program. Combine Academy plays the night prior at Trent Arena so they will be familiar with the setting and comfortable in Ohio. Whitmer will bring their senior guard duo of [player_tooltip player_id='1432018' first='Antione' last='West Jr'] (Purdue) and [player_tooltip player_id='1432039' first='Makhi' last='Leach'] (Bowling Green) leading the way for the Panthers. This will be a great game to see where their role players have improved as Combine Academy will challenge you athletically at every position.

Margaretta Vs Valley View 3:00 P.M.

The small town battle of the event, Margaretta comes down from the Sandusky area after making a regional championship last season. Led by a 2026 duo of [player_tooltip player_id='1827697' first='Julian' last='Washington'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1950589' first='Judah' last='Keller'], the Polar Bears are looking to build on their success from last season. They'll face off with a Valley View squad that I expect to make a big leap in 2024-25 with two 2027 prospects leading the way. [player_tooltip player_id='2194416' first='Brody' last='Denny'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2458958' first='Ty' last='Fritz'] are sleepers that fans outside the Dayton area don't really know about but a big showing at Trent Arena could elevate their publicity.

Pickerington North Vs Beavercreek 4:45 P.M.

After playing one of the most exciting games of the weekend last year at this event, Beavercreek is back trying to get another win. Isaiah Michael-Williams and [player_tooltip player_id='2321703' first='Kaden' last='Ellerbe'] combined for 50 points last season at this event! If they get anywhere close to similar production they will have a great chance at getting another win. Pickerington North on the other hand will look to bounce back from an overtime loss to St Xavier of Cincinnati last season here at Trent Arena. Duquesne commit [player_tooltip player_id='1432005' first='Arness' last='Lawson'] is one of the most exciting players in Ohio and sure to bring crowds alongside Jr Bates and [player_tooltip player_id='2047488' first='Favor' last='McFadden'].

Lakota West @ Kettering Fairmont 6:30 P.M.

The battle of the firebirds wraps up the weekend once again as Kettering Fairmont hosts Lakota West. These two teams met in 2023 with Fairmont coming away with a 57-43 win. Last season Fairmont fell short against GMC foe Cincinnati Sycamore as [player_tooltip player_id='2323147' first='Evan' last='Gentile'] scored almost half their points with 21 of the 46 points. They'll be met with a Lakota West squad led by 2027 studs [player_tooltip player_id='2140178' first='Bryce' last='Curry'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2125748' first='Joshua' last='Tyson']. This should be a competitive game to end the event.
