Ontario had a blazing start to their season with a stacked 2028 class that seemed to grow up this season and take some significant steps forward. Flenoury finished with 17 PPG on 58% from 2-point range, 34% from 3-point range and 80% from the foul line. I made my way out to an Ontario game this season and saw Flenoury take some steps physically and defensively. Flenoury has quick hands defensively and his ball pressure stood out. For Flenoury to make a jump in the rankings, I'll need to see him improve his off hand as both a ball handler and finisher.

Brunswick were one of the best teams in northeast Ohio again this season and it was fueled by their senior guard duo. Those guys are graduating this season, handing the keys to the sophomore Matus next season. Matus showed flashes as a secondary scorer this season due to his ability to score off cuts, attack closeouts and knock down perimeter shots with a quick release. The defensive attention Matus will receive next season will be much different than what he saw this past winter, but I think a summer of getting adjusted to the increased offensive role should prepare him for another loaded schedule.

A bit of a sleeper prospect in central Ohio's 2028 class, King transferred from Worthington Christian to Bishop Hartley this season and played a complimentary role for the Hawks. I liked King's long wingspan, ability to score as a slasher and motor. With a frame that should continue to add muscle as he matures, King is a prime breakout candidate this summer for both Hartley and Nova Village 16 U.

Finishing second in the Dayton City League in scoring as just a sophomore, Whitfield made his name known in Dayton this season. The lefty wing guard is a relentless attacker to the rim with an advanced understanding of how to score around the rim past defenders, allowing Whitfield to lead the Dayton City League in FG%. Whitefield's ability to get to the foul line also stands out, as he shot four or more free throws 14 times as a Sophomore. Despite standing at 6'0, Whitfield was also second in the Dayton City League in rebounding as well, showing his high motor and relentless pursuit of loose balls. Overall, you won't find too many more productive underclassmen in the Dayton area from the class of 2028 than Whitfield.

Urbana was a bit of a surprise team this season with all three of their leading scorers projected to return next season, the Hillclimbers could be even better in 2026-27. Dixson finished second on the team in scoring as the elite shooter attempted 148 3-pointers this season and converted over 47% of them. In Urbana's playoff loss to Wyoming, Dixon hit a couple shots from behind the college line, showing his elite perimeter shot-making ability. Hoping to see Dixon continue to fill out his frame and hit the weight room this off-season, if he combines his perimeter shooting ability with a strong base on drives then he could see his scoring and efficiency on 2-point shots go through the roof next season.

Troy had three players all scoring around 9 PPG with Hall being one of them after getting limited action as a freshman at the varsity level. I first got to see Hall in action on the Prep Hoops Circuit last summer and was impressed by his ball skills, ability to change pace off the dribble and touch around the rim. Hall finished sixth in the Miami Valley Conference in assists and tied for eighth in steals, showing his versatility as an all-around player. For Hall to take a jump in these rankings, I'll need to see him become a more consistent threat as a 3-point shooter and make a higher percentage of shots from the foul line. One of the more talented prospects from the north side of Dayton.
