Curry had a nice offensive game in the win over Breakaway, knocking down a couple shots off movement and scoring in transition. That type of impact is exactly what Curry can bring from day one at the college level as he’s an athletic wing guard who can make shots off the catch and have a two-way impact. Curry holds a handful of mid major offers and his most recent visit was to local high major program Xavier. Expect Division I schools to make watching Curry a priority during the June live periods with Lakota West.
The talent of Curry was on full display on Sunday evening as he rose to the occasion and played arguably the best game of his career. Knocking down shots from all over the court and showcasing his athleticism and defensive upside, everything you’d want to see from Curry was shown on Sunday. Incredible performance and something I want to see from him on a nightly basis.

It took no time at all to recognize why Curry holds several offers and is ranked as a Top 10 prospect in Ohio’s Class of 2027. He has excellent positional size in the backcourt, is incredibly efficient from the floor, and rebounds his position at a high-level. Curry poured in 24 points on impressive 9-11, 4-4, 2-2 shooting splits while also pulling down 8 rebounds. However, Lakota West fell at the buzzer in overtime against La Lumiere 72-71.
Curry has been one of the most notable prospects in Ohio’s 2027 class, staying inside the top 10 of our rankings since they debuted back in the spring of 2024. Curry had himself an excellent summer with consistent two-way impact by using his athleticism, length, strength and perimeter shooting to help his team win. Curry’s combo of vertical explosiveness and strength makes him a tough player to stop in transition with numerous alley-oop dunks in transition from this summer. Curry also knocked down shots with his feet set, a key skill on a Phenom United team that had numerous players who could get downhill and score at the rim. Four MAC schools offered Curry this summer with Toledo, Akron, Eastern Michigan and Central Michigan. Curry has been one of Ohio’s hottest prospects this summer and will look to carry over that momentum during the OHSAA season.
My top Ohio performer of the day, Curry has continued his positive momentum from the month of June with Lakota West on the 3SSB circuit with Phenom United 16 U. In a game where it looked like Phenom United were not going to win, Curry was a part of a massive run with about 6 minutes to go that erased a 10 point deficit and saw Phenom United come away with the win. Curry impacted the game doing what I’ve seen him do over and over in the month of June and that’s knock down open 3-pointers, throw down alley oop dunks and turn defense into transition offense from steals and blocked shots. Love that Curry is once again trending upward with college coaches, a top prospect in Ohio’s 2027 class.
I think Saturday’s game against Louisville St Xavier was the best game I’ve ever seen Curry play. One of the most athletic players in Ohio, Curry had multiple slam dunks that got the crowd going crazy in what was a great environment for a summer basketball game. I’ve also noticed improved perimeter shooting from Curry with a trail 3-pointer and an and-1 fallaway jumper in this game as well. If Curry continues to play with this amount of energy on the offensive end of the court and uses his physical tools defensively, he’ll be a stock riser this season as Lakota West appears to be one of the top teams in Ohio.
I was really impressed with the activity Curry showed in a big-time game, it’s very rare you see an underclassmen make hustle plays and a defensive like Curry did on Saturday. As a slasher, Curry got to the rim and had some big time finishes at the basket. Also in a close game, going 4/4 from the foul line could be the difference. Curry also grabbed two offensive rebounds and was active throughout the game. Strong performance by the Sophomore on the big stage.
