who have both been on the roster were as productive as anybody on Friday evening. I thought Denny did a better job of making quick decisions and not letting the ball stick to his hands. Looking confident in his teammates to score once he gave up the basketball, Denny made some slick passes through traffic for easy looks for his teammates and we all know Denny can get hot in a hurry from downtown. One of the more talented small school prospects in Ohio’s 2027 class, this summer with

I didn’t get to see Valley View at all this year so this was my first time seeing Denny in almost a year. The point guard had a good day offensively, pushing the pace for his team and allowing them to get out in transition to score. Making the right advance passes to teammates further ahead on the court, I expect Denny to run the show on a fast paced All Ohio Red team this summer. My favorite Denny bucket of the day came when he made a fake pass to then pivot and hit a close shot past a defender who was fooled by the initial fake. Talented small town 2027 point guard!

One of the top scorers in the greater Dayton area, Denny exploded onto the radar as a Sophomore by finishing second in the SBC in scoring. A point guard with a scorers mentality, Denny loves to create his own shot and let it fly from downtown on high volume. As Denny matures, I’ll look for him to work on getting easier buckets in transition and the halfcourt. With improved explosiveness and strength, Denny could find it easier to score at the rim next season. Tough to improve on 23 PPG as a Sophomore but I think there’s still plenty of room for Denny to be even more dangerous as a Junior.

This was the first time I got to watch Denny in person and he played how I expected after already seeing some highlights and looking at his freshman year stats where he was one of the top 2027 scorers across Ohio. With range that stretches out 5+ feet behind the 3-point line, Denny is a threat to fire from just about anywhere. Very skilled with the ball in his hands, Denny can create pull-up jumpers or get to the rim off the bounce in isolation or with a high screen in the pick and roll. When Denny forces help from the defense he isn’t afraid to kickout to a shooter. A score first combo guard who also will punish the defense if they make him a passer. I liked what I saw from Denny and expect him to rack up the points for Valley View over the next three seasons.
