As we travel to open gyms across the DMV to get a look at the local talent before the upcoming season begins, we wanted to share with our readers our perspective of the team and some of the top players. Today, we'll look at the Archbishop Carroll Lions and Coolidge Colts of Washington DC. Let's get into it!

Archbishop Carroll (DC)
The Carroll Lions enter the 2024-2025 season with a versatile roster that can make some noise in the WCAC if the rotation comes together at both ends of the floor. [player_tooltip player_id='2353541' first='Bam' last='Bolding'] ('27) mans the backcourt with PVI transfer [player_tooltip player_id='1782683' first='Anthony' last='Brown Jr'] ('26) to form a nice mixture of defense, play-making, and perimeter shooting. The Lions boast good size in the front court with 6'6 Evans Barnings ('25), 6'8 [player_tooltip player_id='2340825' first='Liberty' last='Fusire'] ('25), and 6'6 freshman [player_tooltip player_id='2610833' first='Truth' last='Kelly']. Champe transfer [player_tooltip player_id='2509329' first='Ashton' last='Graves'] ('27) will add in slashing, defense, and perimeter shooting. Canadian import [player_tooltip player_id='2610751' first='Axel' last='Jobin'] ('26) will surprise some people as a capable scorer and facilitator. Mt Zion transfer Dhruv Iyer adds in perimeter shooting and secondary play-making in the halfcourt. Freshman [player_tooltip player_id='2388168' first='Chima' last='Amadi'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2194564' first='Donovan' last='Ford'] hold bright futures to be integral pieces down the line with sophomore guard [player_tooltip player_id='2610756' first='Travoda' last='Jagne'].

Calvin Coolidge HS (DC)
Coach Washington leads a pretty young Colts team with a deep backcourt in their continued chase of a DC title. Returning POY [player_tooltip player_id='2342597' first='Quintin' last='Cooper'] can really fill it up as a scoring PG that can create for teammates off the bounce. CG [player_tooltip player_id='2353538' first='Eric' last='Turner'] has grown to 6'4 and will carry positive momentum from the summer forward into his sophomore year as a physical scoring guard that can fill it up from all 3 levels. [player_tooltip player_id='2194398' first='Mekhi' last='Gray'] ('28) proved this summer that he can manufacture paint touches and easy looks for his team. Tayaz Goodall ('25), Michael Johnson ('25), [player_tooltip player_id='2610762' first='Noah' last='LaMondue'] ('26), and Khaleel Phillips ('25) all can playmake and knock down shots off the catch. 6'5 sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2610759' first='Andre' last='Techeuffa'] has taken strides as a W/F prospect that defends, rebounds, and finishes well around the rim. [player_tooltip player_id='2524397' first='Derrick' last='Washington Jr'] ('28), [player_tooltip player_id='2353603' first='Jabreem' last='Harvey'] ('27), and [player_tooltip player_id='2610760' first='Kymori' last='Gassaway'] ('25) will all fill big roles for Coolidge after returning from the gridiron.
