The body of work from the back-to-back DC Player of the Year gives us no reason to waver from his No. 1 overall ranking. Headed to Vanderbilt to compete in the SEC as a freshman, the intangibles that Brown brings from the point guard position that has to do with his competitive edge, IQ and instincts all should bode well despite making the jump to one of the top conferences in the land. His impressive stat line of 28.3 points, 5.5 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game while competing in one of the more grueling schedules you will find is a testament to his mental toughness and love for the game, which should play a role in the mandatory adjustments that are necessary at the college level.

One of the top scoring guards in the DMV, Brown Jr is headed to a Vanderbilt program that could be sending point guard Tyler Tanner to the first round of the NBA draft this summer. Brown Jr will hope to follow in his footsteps as an elite shooter on the perimeter and a player who plays with a ton of passion when he steps on the court.

The Vanderbilt signee is an exciting scorer as they come. Explosive, quick aggressive, range, touch, has a full scoring arsenal. Highlight film waiting to happen prospect. In the gym range and good shot consistency are two assets he brings to the court. Ant has been a crowd pleasing all year. And the young man didn’t disappoint this year. Scored 27 points on 8-17 from the field and 2-10 from the 3pt line. Showed his vision and passing ability, dishing out 9 assists and 3 steals in a win against DeMatha in the quarterfinals.

The top-ranked prospect in the MD/DC 2026 class proved why again last night as he went for 37 points, albeit in a losing fashion against a Gonzaga team that caught fire early from deep. The Vandy pledge is as tough of a shot maker at the guard position that you’ll find in the country as his array of step-back three’s, pull-ups out of crossovers or his ability to convert tough, contested attempts around the rim has furthered his argument as the most gifted scorer in the state. Brown also accounted for six rebounds.

Ant didn’t have his usual shooting out burst, But he has continued to impress with his vision and efficient floor generalship using creativity to create for himself and others on the offensive end. He has the ball on a string, using his incredible instincts to shift by oncoming defenders as they come at him. He used his craftiness around the rim to finish in traffic and clearly has an advanced understanding of the game for a kid his age. If he continues to develop physically and athletically, there is no reason to believe that he will not develop into a next level prospect. Has the potential to be a solid contributor for the Vanderbilt program next year.

-Our newly-minted #1 prospect really lit it up in the 1H with 19 at the break, then used that scoring gravity to find teammates on the block or in the corners to build Carroll’s lead in the 2H. In the 2H alone Brown hit two C+S above the break 3s, had a pull-up tre off the bounce, and got out in transition before hitting the and1 floater to put the game away late. His value to his team cannot be understated as both the primary shot-maker and play-maker for a Carroll group that has played in several big games this season.

Impossible to ignore the body of work that Brown has showcased since his summer surge and his level of production has only continued to reach new heights. Not only is Brown putting up video game numbers individually, he’s leading this Carroll (DC) team to marquee wins and positively impacting those that he shares the floor with. His dynamism as a lethal scorer from anywhere on the floor, creativity as a passer off the live dribble and the standard in which he demands from those around him all have us comfortable with claiming Brown as the top prospect in this update.

-Don’t know that anyone in the area had a better summer than the explosive Carroll PG on the EYBL circuit with Durant. I thought that the Vanderbilt commit deserved to be 1st Team WCAC last season and expect that slight to stoke a fire that has been burning bright for the past year. But Brown should be on the short list for league POY if he leads the Lions to a top-5 finish, and I think that is fully within reach as they added a ton of depth to their frontcourt and have improved defensively as a unit.

-The newest member of the Commodores’ recruiting class dazzled in a blowout win, scoring 24 points before checking out of the game midway through the 2H after building up a big Carroll lead. Brown showed his defensive instincts with a steal and spin move on the baseline to initiate the fastbreak before kicking ahead to a teammate, hit his defender with a double crossover into a sidestep 3, attacked a hard closeout to hit a smooth baseline pull-up, and scored on a baseline fader through contact after posting up his matchup on the BLOB. Brown was also a menace drawing fouls on the day from all 3 levels, sinking 14/16 FT attempts in the game to get himself some easy points. Love that he is being more vocal to direct traffic while running the offense and taking the time to communicate with teammates during dead ball situations.

The most fun game of the day, Brown Jr went off for 37 points in an upset win in a DMV rivalry game between Team Durant and Team Takeover . A super dynamic scoring guard, Brown Jr went on a heater in the third quarter and let the whole gym know about it. With the confidence to pull from NBA range and the ability to hit floaters when he got to the paint, Team Takeover had no answer for Brown Jr as a scorer. Maybe the most underrated part of his performance was his five assists to zero turnovers mark, incredibly impressive against a defense as talented as Team Takeover . Performances like Brown Jr are what makes Peach Jam special and that will be a memorable game from a busy July of grassroots basketball.
