play throughout his high school and Travel team career. He legitimately shines as a hard playing versatile prospect. Kelly possesses the ability to consistently fill it up as a scorer from all levels, burdening a massive load as the secondary creator and source of offense. He possesses the size, strength, skillset, and athleticism to create matchup problems for various types of opponents. In addition to everything he provides offensively, Truth is an impactful defender and rebounder with a willingness to make hustle plays as needed. Again, he’s a definite scholarship-level piece who will start gathering college level offers soon.

-Kelly is coming into his own and learning how to impact the game on the glass and with his defensive versatility. His ability to serve as a passing target with some size to break fullcourt presses with his passing or ballhandling should earn him more opportunities as the season progresses. Love the work he has been doing on the glass, but think that there is another few levels that he can get to before reaching his ceiling as a prospect. As he finishes opportunities in tight gaps off of sometimes-difficult catches to make in traffic, he will earn more opportunities within the Lions’ guard-centric offense.

A tremendous athlete. Explosive leaper w/ excellent repeat jumping ability. Quick off the floor. Impact paint presence on both ends of the court. Versatile, solid footwork and mobility to defend in space. Active rebounder and shot blocker. He can score it with the middle jumper and off the bounce and will dunk on you… Kelly is also a multi-level/switchable defender whose length and anticipation allow him to force turnovers at a nice rate. Next in his development process is working on getting stronger, as it would make him even more difficult for opponents to contain. Truth knows how to apply constant pressure with and without the ball in his hands.” Truth proved to be an asset for Archbishop Carroll and Coach Malcolm Battle in the always tough Washington Catholic League.

Kelly’s versatility comes to light quickly in these sort of events with his ability to guard multiple positions on the defensive end. He can comfortably switch off his man onto a shifty guard defending ball screens and keep them at bay as well as stand his ground against more physical bigs as he taps in his length to disrupt their looks inside. Kelly had more than a few opportunities to lead the break himself and make decisions at the nail to either put his head down and get to the rim or make kick-out passes on target to shooters spotting up. It was a good confidence-rising weekend for the 6-foot-6 hybrid forward who should gain momentum this year with Archbishop Carroll in the WCAC taking on a bigger role as a sophomore. Kelly was voted into the top-60 Cream of the Crop game.

Has a gritty but smooth flow to his game! Gets two his spot in a efficient manner. Truth is an exceptionally versatile player whose performance continues to impress me. Truth is comfortable defended, rebounding, and scoring from all areas on the court. Truth possesses a college ready frame! Always active on both ends of the floor. Gets on the glass, battles inside but also step out with his mid-range and shows the ability to put it on the deck and make plays with the dribble.

is an unselfish player with a defensive mindset. While his offensive game is still evolving, his dedication on the defensive end makes him an asset to his team. Proved to be an excellent combination of strength and athleticism. He shot the ball respectably from the mid-range, drove the ball hard to the basket, finishing through contact, and had a couple of nice passes for assists. Truth has a nose for the ball coming off the offensive glass and can be a grab-and-go rebounder on defense. He has a great deal of upside. Truth played for

16p 8r 1a 3b vs KIPP
-It’s all starting to come together for the rising sophomore as Kelly showed off an improved handle and athleticism in this one. Kelly created well off the bounce for himself and others, didn’t settle for jumpers and got all the way to the rim, and used his athleticism to push the pace in transition and block shots at the other end of the floor. His defensive IQ has improved as his rotations are much sharper and he showed that he can comfortably guard 2-4 at the HS level with the upside to also do well on 1s and 5s on switches. If his motor can get revved up another level on a consistent basis and he proves that he can hit perimeter jumpers to balance out his slashing ability– he has a chance to move into the top 25 locally in his class.

Do-It-All Dual forward that impressed with his versatility. Shows productivity, holds long arms, an outstanding shot blocker, able to handle the ball, creates plays with his hustle, and scores in a variety of ways. A love Truth’s aggressiveness and approach to the game on both ends of the floor. He is a prospect that has the CHOPS to be a game changing defender.

5p 4r 1s vs Wasatch
-Thought Kelly made the most of his minutes, starting in place of a senior big that is out sick to serve as a disruptive rebounder and screen-setter for the Lions. Kelly’s energy on the glass and in transition extended possessions for his team against a national opponent in Wasatch. As he adds more weight to his frame and begins to confidently take more jumpers–even from the midrange on pick n pops– I think he will make a name for himself in the area.
