The fifth annual Sneakers for Santa Showcase is set to take place on Saturday, December 7th with some of the best teams and individual talent from across the state coming to Brownsburg High School for the six game event. As always, Prep Hoops Indiana will have boots on the ground covering what has become one of the premier events in the state every winter. Now that the field has been officially announced let's dive into an early preview of the six matchups.

Blackhawk Christian vs. Avon (11:30 a.m.)

Previous Season Records: Blackhawk Christian (22-7, Class 2A Semi-State Final), Avon (15-11, Class 4A Sectional 12 Champion)

Prospects to Watch: [player_tooltip player_id='1565984' first='Keriawn' last='Berry'] (Avon H.S. 2026), [player_tooltip player_id='1539997' first='Kendrick' last='Dunmore'] (Avon H.S. 2025), [player_tooltip player_id='1539455' first='DeAndre' last='Lott-Hancock'] (Avon H.S. 2025), [player_tooltip player_id='1561685' first='Jedidiah' last='Minnett'] (Avon H.S. 2026), [player_tooltip player_id='1364589' first='Kellen' last='Pickett'] (Blackhawk Christian 2025 - Wright State), [player_tooltip player_id='2485632' first='Bryce' last='Sefton'] (Blackhawk Christian 2025)

Storyline: Just how good will Avon be this season? The Orioles return the bulk of their scoring from last season's Sectional championship team and added a Division I prospect from Trinity High School in Louisville ([player_tooltip player_id='1565984' first='Keriawn' last='Berry']). Expectations are high for Coach Drew Schauss' team this winter. Meanwhile, the traditional force that is Blackhawk Christian will be very good once again. Led by 6'9" Wright State commit [player_tooltip player_id='1364589' first='Kellen' last='Pickett'], the Braves also have an exciting influx of talent. Freshmen [player_tooltip player_id='2539827' first='Bryce' last='LaCross'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2539823' first='Drake' last='Sefton'] both have a chance to make instant impacts at the varsity level.

Zionsville vs. NorthWood (1:15 p.m.)

Previous Season Records: Zionsville (11-13), NorthWood (15-9)

Prospects to Watch: [player_tooltip player_id='2391220' first='Maddux' last='Everingham'] (NorthWood H.S. 2025), [player_tooltip player_id='2417743' first='Myles' last='Everingham'] (NorthWood H.S. 2025), [player_tooltip player_id='1525678' first='Maguire' last='Mitchell'] (Zionsville H.S. 2025 - IU-Indianapolis), [player_tooltip player_id='2272823' first='Mason' last='Pearson'] (NorthWood H.S. 2026), [player_tooltip player_id='1297122' first='Tyler' last='Raasch'] (NorthWood H.S. 2025 - Grace), [player_tooltip player_id='1525679' first='Drew' last='Snively'] (Zionsville H.S. 2025)

Storyline: Due to playing such an unforgiving schedule, Zionsville's record didn't exactly standout last season. However, the featured one of the best perimeters duos in the state in [player_tooltip player_id='1525678' first='Maguire' last='Mitchell'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1525679' first='Drew' last='Snively'] who averaged 20.9 and 17.8 points per game respectively. That dynamic duo is back now for their senior seasons giving the Eagles as much firepower on the perimeter as any team in the state. On NorthWood's side, they will rely on their size as they feature 6'8" Grace commit [player_tooltip player_id='1297122' first='Tyler' last='Raasch'] and 6'7" junior [player_tooltip player_id='2272823' first='Mason' last='Pearson']. The Everingham twins will add a little scoring punch to the perimeter as well.

Brownsburg vs. Bedford North Lawrence (3:00 p.m.)

Previous Season Records: Brownsburg (14-12), Bedford North Lawrence (13-9)

Prospects to Watch: [player_tooltip player_id='1561114' first='Brandon' last='Addison'] (Brownsburg H.S. 2026), [player_tooltip player_id='1578453' first='Patric' last='Matson'] (Bedford North Lawrence H.S. 2025), [player_tooltip player_id='1539507' first='Jesiah' last='Sloss'] (Brownsburg H.S. 2025)

Storyline: The host Bulldogs experienced an up-and-down season in 2023-2024 and have several unproven parts looking to step into larger roles this season. However, with Coach Steve Lynch at the helm, it will never be easy to beat Brownsburg. 6'6" forward [player_tooltip player_id='1539507' first='Jesiah' last='Sloss'] had a great summer and is attracting a good deal of small college interest. His versatility and length should allow him to blossom into a go-to role this winter. Junior point guard [player_tooltip player_id='1561114' first='Brandon' last='Addison'] is one to watch as well. He will likely be the Bulldogs' primary playmaker. As for Bedford North Lawrence, it is all about senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1578453' first='Patric' last='Matson']. The 6'4" guard averaged 20.1 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game as a junior.

Greenfield-Central vs. Ben Davis (4:45 p.m.)

Previous Season Records: Greenfield-Central (24-1), Ben Davis (23-6, Class 4A State Runner-Up)

Prospects to Watch: [player_tooltip player_id='1306153' first='Michael' last='Johnson'] (Greenfield-Central H.S. 2025), [player_tooltip player_id='2625235' first='JaShawn' last='Ladd'] (Ben Davis H.S. 2026), [player_tooltip player_id='2050030' first='Kaleb' last='Milan'] (Ben Davis H.S. 2025), [player_tooltip player_id='2471408' first='Sherman' last='Moss-Wright'] (Ben Davis H.S. 2026), [player_tooltip player_id='1296984' first='Braylon' last='Mullins'] (Greenfield-Central H.S. 2025), [player_tooltip player_id='1749499' first='Tavion' last='Williams'] (Ben Davis H.S. 2025), [player_tooltip player_id='1373105' first='Mark' last='Zackery'] (Ben Davis H.S. 2025 - Notre Dame Football)

Storyline: After winning the Class 4A state title in 2023, Ben Davis went right back to Gainbridge Fieldhouse and finished as the runner-up in 2024. Now, the Giants once again will be a Top 10 team in Class 4A and among those with realistic aspirations of cutting down the nets. Their front court of 6'7" [player_tooltip player_id='1749499' first='Tavion' last='Williams'] and 6'9" [player_tooltip player_id='2050030' first='Kaleb' last='Milan'] offers plenty of size while [player_tooltip player_id='1373105' first='Mark' last='Zackery'] is one of the best point guards in the state of Indiana. However, keeping up with the scoring ability of [player_tooltip player_id='1296984' first='Braylon' last='Mullins'] is no easy task. The 6'5" four-star shooting guard is expected to make a college decision before the season starts with the likes of Duke, Indiana, Kentucky, and UConn among his top options. Southport transfer [player_tooltip player_id='1306153' first='Michael' last='Johnson'] will take some pressure off of Mullins in the backcourt this season.

Crispus Attucks vs. East Chicago Central (6:30 p.m.)

Previous Season Records: Crispus Attucks (19-7), East Chicago Central (22-5, Class 4A Sectional 1 Champion)

Prospects to Watch: [player_tooltip player_id='1297019' first='Dezmon' last='Briscoe'] (Crispus Attucks H.S. 2025), [player_tooltip player_id='1534942' first='Melakih' last='Cunningham'] (Crispus Attucks H.S. 2025 - Missouri State), [player_tooltip player_id='1297004' first='Chris' last='Hurt'] (Crispus Attucks H.S. 2025), [player_tooltip player_id='1297020' first='Dominique' last='Murphy Jr'] (East Chicago Central H.S. 2025), [player_tooltip player_id='2390221' first='Yamauree' last='Wallace'] (East Chicago Central H.S. 2025)

Storyline: Two very successful teams from a year ago bring a lot back and get the benefit of moving down to Class 3A. Both of these teams will be highly ranked in the preseason polls and have legitimate aspirations of making a trip to Gainbridge Fieldhouse. 6'8" forward [player_tooltip player_id='1297019' first='Dezmon' last='Briscoe'], a back-to-back City Player of the Year award winner, returns 14.3 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 4.2 blocks per game. Meanwhile, the addition of Missouri State bound [player_tooltip player_id='1534942' first='Melakih' last='Cunningham'] and several other transfers gives the Tigers plenty of talent to surround their big man with. As for East Chicago Central, they will lean heavily on 6'5" senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1297020' first='Dominique' last='Murphy Jr'] who averaged 20.9 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. [player_tooltip player_id='2390221' first='Yamauree' last='Wallace'] added 11.8 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.

Lawrence North vs. Gary West Side

Previous Season Records: Lawrence North (25-4, Class 4A Semi-State), Gary West Side (15-9)

Prospects to Watch: [player_tooltip player_id='2053673' first='Derek' last='Collins'] (Gary West Side H.S. 2025), [player_tooltip player_id='1560969' first='Tyler' last='Crews'] (Gary West Side H.S. 2026), [player_tooltip player_id='1560995' first='Reggie' last='Hinton'] (Gary West Side H.S. 2026), Duke Karnes (Lawrence North H.S. 2026), [player_tooltip player_id='1509229' first='Kai' last='McGrew'] (Lawrence North H.S. 2026), [player_tooltip player_id='1729136' first='Brennan' last='Miller'] (Lawrence North H.S. 2026), [player_tooltip player_id='1296979' first='Azavier' last='Robinson'] (Lawrence North H.S. 2025 - Butler)

Storyline: Lawrence North spent much of last season at #1 in the Prep Hoops Indiana Class 4A Rankings before falling in the Semi-State. Talent wise they have a chance to be as good, or even better, this time around. Butler commit [player_tooltip player_id='1296979' first='Azavier' last='Robinson'] will lead the way in the backcourt while juniors [player_tooltip player_id='1729136' first='Brennan' last='Miller'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1509229' first='Kai' last='McGrew'] makeup the best front court in the state of Indiana. Gary West Side has plenty of talent as well. [player_tooltip player_id='1560995' first='Reggie' last='Hinton'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2053673' first='Derek' last='Collins'] make up a talented backcourt along with [player_tooltip player_id='1561005' first='Bryce' last='Cooper']. Then, in the front court, 6'10" center [player_tooltip player_id='1560969' first='Tyler' last='Crews'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1296975' first='Anthony' last='Holmes'] provide plenty of length. This nightcap matchup should be a lot of fun to watch as two up-tempo teams go at it.
