Will Avon has had a bit of an up-and-down season up to this point, they are home to one of the top unsigned seniors in Jedidiah Minnett Jedidiah Minnett 6'0" | PG Avon | 2026 State IN . The 6’0 point guard has been really good for Avon this season averaging 21.5 point per game for them. Minnett is one of the more crafty players we have in the state and is dynamic enough to score at all levels of the floor. Super athletic at the guard spot, Minnett can be a very tough player to keep track of if you are a defender. Watch him this week vs Decatur Central, Franklin Central, and Carmel.

One of the highest ranked unsigned seniors in the state of Indiana, Minnett showcased his skill level on Saturday night. The 6’0″ guard connected on three three-point shots while also flashing his explosive athleticism by jumping a couple of passing lanes and finishing with big dunks. He scored 12 of his game-high 23 points in the fourth quarter to help preserve a 55-53 Avon win over Harrison (West Lafayette).

By the way things may be shaping up, Minnett may be going into his senior year as arguably the top guy for Avon which is going to result in big numbers. The 6’0 guard is one of the more crafty players we have in the state and is dynamic enough to score at all levels of the floor. Super athletic at the guard spot, Minnett can be a very tough player to keep track of if you are a defender.

I’m not sure I saw a better out of state team than Avon from the greater Indianapolis area. Their balance on their team was impressive as they moved the ball, had size, shooting and athleticism. Minnett checked a few of those boxes as he knocked down a couple perimeter shots, had a few strong finishes at the rim by attacking closeouts and didn’t let the ball stick to his hands. When the ball moves as quickly as Avon had it moving, everybody on the court gets the opportunity to get open shots and score and in the game I caught Minnett was on the receiving end of a handful of open shots that he knocked down. St Francis was Minnett’s first offer about a year ago and I’d imagine other regional scholarship programs will take interest of him during the summer.

Minnett is really starting to solidify himself as one of the top catch-and-shoot threats in Indiana’s rising senior class. That isn’t to say that he can’t create off of the dribble because he has some explosive athleticism when going to finish at the rim, but he is truly at his best when spotted up on the perimeter as a catch-and-shoot threat. Scholarship programs should make it a point to evaluate Minnett closely this summer.

Minnett’s shot-making ability was a big reason why Avon was able to pull away from Carmel in the second half and move to 18-2 on the season. The 6’1″ guard finished with 26 points and 5 rebounds after posting 22 points and 5 rebounds on Friday night in a win over Franklin Central.

This Avon team has a ton of potential this season due the almost insane amount of talent and depth they have on their roster this year. One of the top players on this Avon squad and viewed as one of the top primary options in backcourt is Jedidiah Minnett Jedidiah Minnett 6'0" | PG Avon | 2026 State IN . Through two games, he averaging 8.5 points and 2.0 but that is only scratching the surface of what he can do this season. Minnett is an excellent shooting threat that can create his own or make them off the catch.
