What a game down to the wire. The Hornets located right in the heart of Columbia have some new faces this coming season. CA Johnson added <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1848632' first='Tony' last='Odom']</strong> from Keenan HS and have few good ones to watch out for in <strong>Aiassic Germany</strong> and 2028 <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2459220' first='Elijah' last='Harper']</strong>. Perry a left-handed guard was able to get downhill with the rock in his hand. Brown plays very well going to the basket and shooting the ball from the mid-range. Reid finishes at a high percentage clip around the bucket. The Panthers a Class 1A program in the Upstate finished (14-10) a season ago. McBee HS got strong play today from left-handed guard <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1372635' first='Tyrek' last='Wright'].</strong> Wright wants to play 94 feet and get the ball downhill at all costs. <strong>Hayden Griggs</strong> was a pleasant surprise down in the paint. Griggs was able to seal off his defenders and gain position while working down low. Hayden is a baseball in the spring for the Panthers.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Camden HS looks to be a bit of a new team this season for Head Coach Sterling Council. Post player <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1998912' first='Justin' last='Maduro'] </strong>was hitting the glass here today and running the floor. Ray was in attack mode all day long and got to the basket quite easily. Tyson showed a quick 1st step to and some uncanny court vision at times. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2537675' first='Jaydon' last='Bradford']</strong> and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2376077' first='Brendan' last='McMahon']</strong> both seniors this season provided good work around the paint area for the Eagles. Bradford was able post up with his back to the basket while McMahon looked to play more as a face-up power forward. Laurie played for the Shamrocks and the legendary Head Coach George Glymph back in the day. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1463715' first='Cedric' last='Schofield']</strong> is back at Eau Claire HS after playing last season at Keenan HS with Laurie who was an assistant coach for the Raiders. Schofield a run-jump-athlete forward will be a nice addition to the squad. The Mohawks defeated Cross HS last season in the Lower State Championship 53-43. The Mohawks will rely on <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2211022' first='Bryson' last='Robinson']</strong> and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2211021' first='Terrance' last='McFadden']</strong> this season. Robinson lengthy small forward really likes to work the baselines with his game. McFadden is a thicker undersized post player with a nice set of hands to catch everything thrown in his direction. Former Head Coach Dion Bethea has moved onto Georgia Southern University. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1025879' first='LJ' last='Britt']</strong> and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2027917' first='Hunter' last='McGraw']</strong> are just two of the pieces back for the new Class 4A program in West Columbia. Abijah has the ability to pile up points in a hurry while on the floor. Franklin has had a good spring on the Grassroots Circuit.
