Prep Hoops took in the action at the University of South Carolina Team this past weekend in Columbia. Let's continue with the coverage from the camp right here on your source for basketball coverage in the Palmetto State. It's just early June and let's see what we saw out of some programs. SUBSCRIBE today by using the passcode "Swanny30" at checkout to save 30% on your first billing cycle. #RecruitThePalmettoState

CA Johnson squared off with the past Class 1A State Champion Christ Church. What a game down to the wire. The Hornets located right in the heart of Columbia have some new faces this coming season. CA Johnson added [player_tooltip player_id='1848632' first='Tony' last='Odom'] from Keenan HS and have few good ones to watch out for in Aiassic Germany and 2028 [player_tooltip player_id='2459220' first='Elijah' last='Harper']. The Hornets will look to be a sleeper in Class 1A.

Christ Church returns plenty of talent back from last year. The Cavaliers will now be a Class 3A team this coming season. [player_tooltip player_id='2361714' first='Jonathan' last='Perry'], [player_tooltip player_id='2299737' first='Adam' last='Brown'], [player_tooltip player_id='2299739' first='Reid' last='Hipp'], Elijah Garrett and [player_tooltip player_id='2246933' first='Bennett' last='Cooke'] all return for the Cavaliers. Perry a left-handed guard was able to get downhill with the rock in his hand. Brown plays very well going to the basket and shooting the ball from the mid-range. Adam constantly plays around the rock.

Hipp has soft hands and good footwork around the basket. Reid finishes at a high percentage clip around the bucket. Garrett a left-handed undersized post brings a good role guy to the roster and 5 fouls every night.

How will Riverside HS replace American University Julen Iturbe up front? The Warriors will rely on the trio of [player_tooltip player_id='2367673' first='Sebi' last='Boyogueno'], [player_tooltip player_id='2405570' first='Keyon' last='Knowles'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2459224' first='Reeves' last='Garner'] this coming season to provide a scoring punch. Mikkel Skinner a bigtime football talent recently committed to the University of Cincinnati on the gridiron.

[player_tooltip player_id='2384556' first='Jahleel' last='Sanders'] played well here today for the Cane Bay HS Cobras. The Cobras a bit short-handed here today will look to add a piece or two this summer. Sanders a left-handed guard has really came on this spring with his play on the Grassroots Circuit.

The Panthers of McBee HS are located in Chesterfield County. The Panthers a Class 1A program in the Upstate finished (14-10) a season ago. McBee HS got strong play today from left-handed guard [player_tooltip player_id='1372635' first='Tyrek' last='Wright']. Wright wants to play 94 feet and get the ball downhill at all costs. Hayden Griggs was a pleasant surprise down in the paint. Griggs was able to seal off his defenders and gain position while working down low. Hayden is a baseball in the spring for the Panthers.

Camden HS looks to be a bit of a new team this season for Head Coach Sterling Council. Alot of new faces for the Bulldogs.

The Hanahan HS Hawks were without the services [player_tooltip player_id='1998799' first='Jackson' last='Wilber'] today. Post player [player_tooltip player_id='1998912' first='Justin' last='Maduro'] was hitting the glass here today and running the floor. Maduro a bit of tweener on the floor plays out best around the paint area as a power forward.

White Knoll HS was without the services of [player_tooltip player_id='1755070' first='James' last='Smith'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2459219' first='Denzell' last='Posey'] today. Smith looks to be out for a while with a injury while Posey was in street clothes on the bench.

The Chapin HS Eagles finished just (6-18) last season. The Eagles this season will rely on [player_tooltip player_id='2040358' first='Tyson' last='Ray'] from out top. Ray was in attack mode all day long and got to the basket quite easily. Tyson showed a quick 1st step to and some uncanny court vision at times.

[player_tooltip player_id='2537675' first='Jaydon' last='Bradford'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2376077' first='Brendan' last='McMahon'] both seniors this season provided good work around the paint area for the Eagles. Bradford was able post up with his back to the basket while McMahon looked to play more as a face-up power forward. Brendan needs time to set his feet and setting up shop in the corners from time to time.

[player_tooltip player_id='2175529' first='Braydyn' last='Francis'] a point guard brings some savvy and scrappiness to the table with his play. Braydyn a vocal guard runs with [program_tooltip program_id='2078724' first='Carolina' last='Pressure'] on the Grassroots Circuit.

The Eau Claire HS Shamrocks hired a new coach this off season in Jacob "Junior" Laurie. Laurie played for the Shamrocks and the legendary Head Coach George Glymph back in the day. [player_tooltip player_id='1463715' first='Cedric' last='Schofield'] is back at Eau Claire HS after playing last season at Keenan HS with Laurie who was an assistant coach for the Raiders. Schofield a run-jump-athlete forward will be a nice addition to the squad. The Shamrocks will be well coached and certainly will have a very competitive attitude under Laurie.

The Bethune-Bowman HS Mohawks got to the Class 1A State Championship Game before falling to Christ Church. The Mohawks defeated Cross HS last season in the Lower State Championship 53-43. The Mohawks will rely on [player_tooltip player_id='2211022' first='Bryson' last='Robinson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2211021' first='Terrance' last='McFadden'] this season. Robinson lengthy small forward really likes to work the baselines with his game. McFadden is a thicker undersized post player with a nice set of hands to catch everything thrown in his direction. The Mohawks finished the year at (17-7) a season ago.

Gray Collegiate has a new Head Coach in Carlos Powell this season. Former Head Coach Dion Bethea has moved onto Georgia Southern University. [player_tooltip player_id='1025879' first='LJ' last='Britt'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2027917' first='Hunter' last='McGraw'] are just two of the pieces back for the new Class 4A program in West Columbia. Britt a senior leader and the left-handed McGraw will be major contributors for the black and white this coming season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1341455' first='Abijah' last='Franklin'] is back at Wren HS this season for the Hurricanes. Abijah has the ability to pile up points in a hurry while on the floor. Franklin has had a good spring on the Grassroots Circuit. Abijah is a scorer who can really deliver a punch anywhere on the floor at times.
