. He seemed to glide with the ball in his hands throughout the day, flying past defenders and into the paint frequently. Franklin has a knack for beating his man off the dribble and is both an athletic and crafty finisher at the rim. He displayed great body control and was calm when double and even triple teamed. Abijah didn’t have his most efficient day, but he was still extremely productive and was a major factor in Wren’s win putting up 35 Points and 10 Rebounds on 12-25 FG.

. Franklin was a major piece for the Wren Hurricanes who were the 3A Upper State Runners Up last year. Franklin was the 3A State Player of the Year averaging a whopping 23.9 Points Per Game. Abijah is near impossible to stop when he gets a head of steam towards the paint, but is also skilled enough to step back and create space with limitless range. Wren were placed in Region 1 after reclassifying from 3A to 4A and they will be the favorite to win that region’s championship. Franklin started the wave of Senior Commitments in the Palmetto State, announcing he would continue his career at Furman University on August 28th.

is one of the top scoring guards in the State and had a monster game for Wren at the Powdersville Summer Splash. He went for 39 Points with only one made 3, getting downhill possession after possession and using his athleticism and creativity to finish around bodies at the basket. I thought TL Hanna defended Franklin well for the most part, it was just his ability to rise up over his man and his persistence in getting to the tin that allowed him to be so successful. Abijah also racked up 6 Rebounds and 2 Steals, staying engaged on both ends of the floor.

Franklin is a 2-sport athlete (football) and that was easy to tell, the aggressive style of play shown through on both ends while the speed and strength at his size made him an effective driver to the rim. Very explosive with a quick change of direction– it’s rare to see your PG on the receiving end of lobs but he flushed two 1-handed alley oops in transition in one quarter. Midrange pull-up was smooth, created a nice change of pace to catch the defense lacking after scoring on drives to the rim. 2-man game with his bigs was effective on the second side PnR.
