Christ Church had one of the iconic moments in South Carolina State Championship history, thanks to David Dixon’s game-winner. Reid played a crucial role in the all-important play. He missed the two free throws that allowed Fox Creek to tie the game, but he didn’t sulk and came down to provide the assist on Dixon’s right-corner three. Hipp also stepped up throughout the game, with his big frame being necessary to stop some of Fox Creek’s interior threats. Offensively, he had 9 points in a very low-scoring game, again being a factor close to the rim because of his combination of size and strength. Many will remember the shot, but without Reid, Christ Church might not have been the ones celebrating in Colonial Life Arena.

Hipp really got things done all weekend long for the Hoopzters inside the paint area. Reid certainly isn’t flashy with his play at all. He was able to fill the lane in transition at times and score the ball at the rim. Hipp shows to have good mitts catching anything thrown in his direction. Reid has good footwork and was able to finish some nice jump hooks around the cup. He plays football in the fall for the Cavaliers as a TE.

The Big Shots Carolina Live was my first time getting to see Reid in person and I was very impressed with one of his Saturday performances. Hipp had a dominant 11-point 14-rebound double-double in an overtime matchup with Carolina Factory. He has a very strong body, is active on both ends, is a cable back-t0-basket scorer, has a soft touch on his shots, and can pass out of the post. Reid overall is a very exciting prospect with these attributes combined with his physicals and should be a player to keep on eye an with the 2x 1A State Champs Christ Church.
