Rounding out Friday’s best from 3SSB Palmetto Road is Ty Young Ty Young 6'2" | SG Christ Church Episcopal | 2029 State SC . Young has had some good moments for the Stars over the course of his 15U season, including an 11-point, 3-rebound, and 3-assist performance on Friday. Despite not knocking down a three, the threat of Ty’s outside shot still created driving lanes. He drove the ball well himself, showing a well-rounded scoring ability with a baseline floater and a mid-range pull-up. The offensive skill is clearly there with Young, so it will be interesting to see how he develops over the fall and fits in with some new pieces at Chris Church in the winter.

Young is one of the best shooters in this class. He is a knockdown guy off the catch and is comfortable pulling up in the mid-range, but he’s proving to be more than purely a spot-up guy with Upward Stars. He gets some secondary ball-handling responsibility and can create open looks for others, plus he’s scrappy defensively and on the glass. Look for Ty to take a big step next season.

Just outside the Top 25 is Christ Church’s Ty Young Ty Young 6'2" | SG Christ Church Episcopal | 2029 State SC . Young was a starter in the Cavaliers’ State Championship win over Fox Creek, showing just how much trust their staff has in him despite his age. Ty is a knockdown outside shooter, but will be able to do more as he gets older and more experienced.

Christ Church has a pair of freshmen who have been impactful this season, but Young was the more consistent of the two against Southside Christian. He had a couple of nice finishes in transition and the half-court in the first half, then really put an emphasis on the defensive end in the second half. Ty has flashed some perimeter shot-making over the course of the season, but Friday night was one of those where he impacted the game without hitting jumpers. He tallied 8 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 steals in the win.
