The latest Prep Hoops South Carolina 2029 Rankings update featured a few shifts within the class, while also laying the groundwork for several new names set to enter the picture later on. Even without major movement throughout the rankings, a handful of rising sophomores continued to strengthen their stock this spring through productive grassroots play, development, and long-term upside. Here, we take a closer look at some of the 2029 prospects trending upward after the May update.

[player_tooltip player_id='2948735' first='Kellen' last='Leverett'] leads off the stock-rising 2029s. Kellen is widely regarded as one of the best Point Guards in South Carolina's rising sophomore class, and he's been the engine behind a lot of [program_tooltip program_id='2078752' first='Upward' last='Stars SE']'s success so far this spring. They are yet to play a 3SSB game, but they have played multiple shoe-circuit teams, and Leverett's ability to efficiently hit jumpers and consistently set up teammates is clear every time he steps on the floor.

One of the most consistent players for [program_tooltip program_id='3565368' first='Twelve' last='Time'] in EYBL play so far is Desmond. He's putting up 8.4 points per game and 2.0 assists per game through two sessions, showing he has a balance of scoring and creating. Desmond is athletic enough to make plays around the rim and is a good enough shooter to play off-ball at times. Grant might be good now, but he could be an elite player at Westwood over the next few years.

Another guard who is highly ranked because of his high ceiling is Nowlin. Jayden is the definition of intriguing because of his very long arms and defensive instincts, while lacking a complete offensive game. He is a pest in passing lanes, helps rebound, and can guard multiple positions, so if he develops as a playmaker or adds a jumper, he could end up inside the Top 10.

Young is one of the best shooters in this class. He is a knockdown guy off the catch and is comfortable pulling up in the mid-range, but he's proving to be more than purely a spot-up guy with Upward Stars. He gets some secondary ball-handling responsibility and can create open looks for others, plus he's scrappy defensively and on the glass. Look for Ty to take a big step next season.

Another shooter to know just outside the Top 20 is Reed. Robinson is shooting 42.9% from three through 5 games and on 21 attempts in EYCL play. His biggest game came in an in-state matchup with Team Unleashed, where he went for 18 points on 5-10 3FG. Reed isn't a shy rebounder and will help out defensively, but he needs to complete his offensive game to be the best player he can be.

Brockington did a lot of heavy lifting with [program_tooltip program_id='2830220' first='Palmetto' last='Pride'] in early spring before joining up with [program_tooltip program_id='2413030' first='Middleton' last='Hoops Elite']. Jordan is one of the top true Point Guards in South Carolina's 2029 Class. He is at his best in high-pace games, but never feels sped up because of how well he reads the floor. Brockington is a key piece to the future at Wilson High School.

Rounding out the list of Stock-Rising 2029s in the May Rankings Update is [player_tooltip player_id='2964006' first='River' last='Erickson']. Erickson had a huge spring with MHE, leading them in scoring in EYCL play. Despite only being listed at 6'2", he is one of their more dominant interior players and plays well above his size on both ends of the floor. I still don't have a great feel for him because I didn't get to see him live, so he could be in for another jump if he performs well in June and July.
