Switching over to the first game of the night, Braydyn Francis Braydyn Francis 5'10" | PG Chapin | 2026 State SC was terrific for Chapin in a 56-41 win. Although he is not the biggest guard, Francis was a factor defensively by drawing charges and punishing loose-ball handling with steals. However, on the offensive end, it was clear to see that he was the best and most impactful player on the floor. Braydyn hit two movement threes and a transition corner three, made a couple of nice reads off of drives, and displayed a nice feel for finishing around or through the length of Richland Northeast’s rim protection. Francis totaled 22 points, 3 assists, and 3 steals in the opener.

I caught up with the Eagles in the first game of the day when they matched up with Grovetown (GA). Chapin got off to a hot start, but Braydyn made several clutch plays to help get the game into overtime. Although he struggled with the opponent’s size on the ball, he adjusted to it well with his crafty handle, deep range, and ability to fit passes through tight windows. Francis also had a couple of impressive finishes around bigs at the rim and drew a key charge. He finished with 12 points in the game.

Braydyn is the first of a few Carolina Pressure 2026s in this Film Room Article. There was a big sample size of him knocking down outside shots in his highlights – particularly off the catch with his feet set. Francis also has lots of good qualities playing as an on-ball guard or an off-ball guard including a knack for beating defenders off the dribble, good vision, creative finishes, and a floater. I will be interested to see how he fits in at Gray Collegiate, but if the three point efficiency continues to improve he should carve out a good role for himself.
