An aspect from an evaluation standpoint our staff will be paying close attention to this spring and summer is taking groups of prospects that are closely ranked with similar skill sets or positions. Evaluating them while deciding who has separated themselves from that pack or should move to another group. You hear it a lot in NFL and NBA Draft talks as Cluster Busters! We do our own version of that here in Cluster Busters: Class of 2027!

[player_tooltip player_id='2323571' first='Jaxson' last='Davis'] (Warren), [player_tooltip player_id='2323624' first='Davion' last='Thompson'] (Bolingbrook), [player_tooltip player_id='2125612' first='Devin' last='Cleveland'] (Kenwood), [player_tooltip player_id='2323647' first='Howard' last='Williams'] (Whitney Young)

This one is pretty simple. Battle for #1! All four of these come in with legit cases to be made for the top spot in the class. Davis is an elite point guard that can score from all three levels and elevated Warren to heights not seen since Brandon Paul. Thompson stepped in from day one and was the go to guy for historic Bolingbrook putting on show after show scoring it. Cleveland is a rangy point guard that lit up the state tournament with Kenwood's vets out. We already knew he could do it, but that proved it. Williams is the long wing of the group with a college body and athleticism while contributing as a freshman for the Dolphins.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125674' first='Quinton' last='Kitt'] (East Peoria) and [player_tooltip player_id='2323677' first='Camron' last='Dunson-Riggs'] (Normal West)

Two of the premier wings from central Illinois. Dunson-Riggs had the hype coming into the season, but was sidelined most of the year. Kitt broke out as a wing that can handle, score, play make, and do damage in the paint.

[player_tooltip player_id='2323675' first='Michael' last='Woods'] (St. Francis de Sales), [player_tooltip player_id='2125677' first='Reggie' last='Stevens'] (St. Laurence), [player_tooltip player_id='2323617' first='Markese' last='Peoples'] (St. Laurence)

Trio of point guards/combos that are right behind the “Big 3”. Two come from St. Laurence seeing limited minutes as freshman while Woods made a name for himself and school this past season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125620' first='Duke' last='Ross'] (St. Ignatius), [player_tooltip player_id='2125668' first='Nedas' last='Venckus'] (Lockport), [player_tooltip player_id='2749990' first='Zane' last='Schneider'] (Lemont), [player_tooltip player_id='2751229' first='Michael' last='Organ'] (Centralia)

This is the sharp shooter group. All prospects that can shoot the rock. Will need to grow and round out games, but have that skill.

Dariontez Monroe (Sparta), [player_tooltip player_id='2455383' first='Brady' last='Welch'] (Moline), [player_tooltip player_id='2455389' first='Arthur' last='Abbey'] (Moline), [player_tooltip player_id='2455395' first='Keshaun' last='Manney'] (Bloomington Central Catholic)

Quartet of central and southern Illinois point guards all burst on the scene in the second half of the high school season. Who can break out from this group and emerge as the best?
