Expert Analysis
Bobby Lopez | Prep Hoops Scout
Manns-Davis has been the engine for Eaglecrest, consistently scoring in double figures while stuffing the stat sheet across the board. He plays with a burst that’s tough for defenders to contain, yet somehow controls the pace and keeps the game on his terms. He attacks with smart angles, gets into the paint and finishes confidently at the rim. On the other end his length and long arms disrupt passing lanes and contest shots, making him just as impactful defensively as he is on offense

Davis finished with 14 points and showed just how effective the 1–2 punch with Brown can be. The chemistry between the two stood out, as they consistently fed off each other’s energy and playmaking. Davis dispalyed smooth handles that allowed him to get into attack mode, where he was tough to contain off the bounce. He finished well around the rim, mixing in control and touch and made timely plays that kept pressure on the defense. His ability to create his own offense and force defenders into bad positions makes him hard to slow down

is a locked-in sharpshooter from distance, never hesitant to let it fly. Leading his team in scoring (16.5 PPG) on 58% from the field and 48% from three, it’s easy to see how the numbers speak for themselves. The 6’2 junior doesn’t hold the ball for too long, and either finds a wide-open teammate or takes matters into his own hands to get a bucket with his floor IQ. As a guard, rebounding the ball well on both ends separates you from the average player. Hustling from the perimeter to the paint to give your squad a second chance opportunities never goes unnoticed, hence why Manns Davis is now the #3 ranked CG in his class.

Demari had himself quite the game against Rock Canyon, and he was locked in and deliberate with every touch. He made sure that his team competed, and he brought the edge from the opening tip. He played strong from the mid-post, knocked down tough pull-ups, and showed confidence attacking mismatches. He competed hard defensively and stayed aggressive when Eaglecrest needed buckets. You could tell he wanted it, and that quiet intensity was real. When he has it going like that and how Eaglecrest is set up this season, he’s going to need to be more assertive and forceful with his shots, but that should let him know that he could push his team, and they will follow suit. Liked how he performed on the weekend.

Demari is a state champ, and his sophomore season was one of growth. He had a solid group around him that played the right way, got it done on both ends of the floor, and played as a team, and that is instilled in him as he looks to take over the reins. He will take over the team as the primary ball handler that opposing teams gameplan for. He’s a smooth 3-level scorer who’s a creative finisher. He attacks off the dribble, reads the PnR and gets to his spots, and also can space the floor with his shooting. He can play both on and off the ball, and that versatility will open him up with one of the best play callers in the state that should make it easy for him. We saw Demari multiple times this summer, including a showcase where one thing remains constant, his ability to impact the game. He’s going to have a big year and make the jump in the rankings, ready to prove more.

Demari proved himself as a three-level scorer who also defended and played at his own pace. His unselfishness and ability to impact the game on both ends were impressive.

Demari is a player that we have gone back and forth on at Prep Hoops Colorado, and I need to see more of. I’ve seen him pop, but have also seen him coast, but the thing about it is, at his best, there may not be 17 players better than him in his class, we just want to see that consistency. This year, I think we will see it for Eaglecrest as he’s going to be given the keys to do whatever it is that he wants, and I believe the production will follow. He’s an explosive do-it-all guard with high upside. He scores at all 3 levels and cannot be stopped in iso, and we hope that he comes out to the Expo and puts that on display. He can sway us with a big showing and Fall league to move up a couple of spots.

Davis is a true floor general who plays with complete control every time he touches the ball. His elite crossover sets the tone, allowing him to dictate the pace, whether he’s attacking downhill or dishing it off to an open shooter. His footwork is exceptional, consistently creating the space he needs to get his shot off cleanly. Davis is a three-level scorer: he can knock down the three, float it in from midrange, or take it all the way to the rim. Still, his greatest strength lies in his aggressive drives, where he finishes through contact with confidence and consistency
