Watched the game against Olympic City Elite , and he stood out for me due to his action and ability to keep playing hard and moving. He’s a guard who is telling people where to go, covering up other people’s defensive lapses, and scoring in transition. His activity helped him get his hands on the ball defensively, and he had a couple of deflections. He also took care of the ball despite Olympic City Elite pressing them and applying full-court pressure. Carino is a player I did not know too much about before the event, but he got my attention. Carino thrived off the ball with constant movement and smart baseline cuts, creating easy scoring chances. He stayed engaged, found soft spots in the defense, and knocked down a midrange jumper to keep opponents honest. That was surely on display in the 3-on-3 portion of the day. His awareness and motor opened the floor for teammates. Carino proved he’s the type of spacer who helps team’s function efficiently.
