Expert Analysis
Bobby Lopez | Prep Hoops Scout
Brown set the tone from the opening possession by playing in constant attack mode. He consistently got downhill and showed his ability to score at all three levels, keeping the defense on its heels finishing with 19 points. What stood out just as much was his high pressure press defense, where he applied nonstop ball pressure and forced multiple turnovers that swung momentum. He played with confidence, pace, and intent, impacting the game on both ends and making his presence felt every time he was on the floor

Brown put everyone on notice early in the fall and hasn’t taken his foot off the gas since the season tipped off. Averaging 16.3 points for Eaglecrest, he’s been a constant problem with his ball skills and pace. He’s comfortable handling pressure, breaks presses with ease and plays fast and downhill, putting defenders on their heels. Brown’s crafty finishes in the lane make him tough to contain, and if opponents give him space, he’s more than capable of making them pay from deep

Reece is a microwave scorer and one of Eaglecrest’s biggest X-factor swings. At showcases and tournaments this summer he was locked in as he was hitting floaters, mid-range pull-ups, and finishing off the bounce. What I like about Reece’s game is that he’s both dangerous as a primary ball handler and off-the-ball because he stays in constant motion. When he gets in rhythm, Eaglecrest’s offense changes completely. His spark, confidence, and ability to take over without forcing shots give them real upside this season, but makes him one of the biggest X-factors in the conference.

Reece is a player that we’ve seen play many of times and this was the best we saw of him. He was smooth and steady all event and led the way for Eaglecrest. He was a player that could not be contained and provided a spark when he was out there. He had some creative finishes. There were gloaters, mid-range pull-ups, and scoring off the bounce. He just kept finding ways to get buckets. What I liked was that he was constantly moving and hunting shots, and when he got in rhythm, Eaglecrest’s offense clicked. His confidence jumps out, and it feels like he’s figuring out how to take over games without forcing it.

Brown dominated the 3-on-3 portion of the day before leaving, and if he was able to stay and play with this group, it would’ve been an offensive onslaught. In 3-on-3, we enjoyed how he relentlessly attacked downhill with blow-bys and crafty finishes at the basket. He also had an iso game where he scored in multiple ways. There were layups, mid-range pullups, and also a couple of 3-pointers as well. While we didn’t get to see him in 5-on-5, his performance in limited action spoke volumes. He played like a natural scorer capable of carrying an offense when given the chance, and we think he takes advantage of his new opportunity this upcoming year. We’re high on Reece heading into Senior year.

Brown is an intriguing prospect poised to make a significant jump at The Expo. Known as a three level scorer, he’s made noticeable strides in his accuracy and shot making this past season. He’s developed a keen sense of where his spots are on the floor, and once he rises up, defenders are often left powerless to contest his shot. The showcase presents the perfect stage for Brown to prove he belongs and can compete with the best players in his class. Expect him to come out firing on all cylinders, as he’s shown time and again that once he gets going, he’s incredibly tough to stop

A fluid shotmaker from all three levels, Brown was on a heater in both of his games. Taking full advantage of small openings in the halfcourt, opponents could not slow him down even as they clued in on him.

Reese is a guard with a great handle, making him a constant threat on the court. He excels at driving to the rim and has a reliable three-point shot, whether off the dribble or spotting up. On defense, Reese’s pesky nature and quick hands allow him to generate steals, especially in the backcourt, disrupting the opponent’s flow. This season, he’s poised to be a game-changer on both ends of the floor.
