Liberty has some pieces over there, and now they have to put it together. Baca showed out this summer and now has to put himself in a situation to be able to contribute to a team that has some expectations this year. The depth is there, and from what we saw from him at Colorado Live, he can be a contributor. Baca spaces the floor, hits shots from deep to space it, and also can mix it up and go inside at times as well. His performance at Live has him on our radar and making a rankings debut. He should get out to the showcase so we can see more of him, but from the looks of it, he’ll have a chance to be a helpful piece for Liberty. Solid stock boosting Summer from Baca. 

Baca quietly stacked together multiple games at Colorado Live, making for a very productive weekend, and by the end of the weekend, he had played his way onto my radar. He sprinted the floor, attacked closeouts, knocked down 3-pointers, and played with the confidence of someone looking to earn more opportunities. Against Eaglecrest, he sparked Liberty by knocking down multiple threes, got himself to the foul line by attacking the paint, and never looked hesitant when the ball found him. It felt like a player beginning to carve out a bigger role, and I’m looking forward to seeing if he builds on that momentum at tournaments and showcases to close out the summer. He’s on our radar right now as a player. I am curious about going off of how he performed at Live. 

Baca wasn’t a name I had circled coming into the event, but he made sure that changed on Day 1. His activity consistently popped, as he was moving without the ball, finding gaps, and generating clean looks as a shooter. He plays with intent and doesn’t wait for the game to come to him. Defensively, he rotated well as a help-side presence, and his team needed him to make those plays as they often go overlooked. He earned my respect with his motor and ability to keep making winning play,s and he’s a prospect I want to see more of. Solid Day 1.
