Expert Analysis
Duvalier Johnson | Prep Hoops Scout
Musandu might not be a focal point of the team in every single outing, but he is an important part of the team, and it goes to show the depth that Chaparral has. In the last few games, Musandu has gotten he opportunity to get some extended minutes, and the forward played with intensity that couldn’t be matched. He’s had a big rebounding game and also finished with 8 points. He was efficient, got to the FT line, and took advantage of his opportunity. He’s an enforcer and a team-first kind of player who stands out when the opportunity comes.

Musandu is a 6’2 wing with a relentless motor and defensive versatility. He’s a physical interior presence who contests shots, bangs with bigger players, and finishes through traffic. His ability to defend multiple positions and battle inside set him apart. Musandu was one of the best interior defenders of the weekend and a new name to follow.

Musandu was the player everybody enjoyed playing with last weekend, he gave 100% every possession and played with a chip on his shoulder. He raised the level of play for his team which lead to them being one of the toughest teams to beat.

Musandu was a force on the defensive end and made it difficult to score inside for the opposing teams. He was blocking shots and being a pest on defense all weekend. He is a player on the offensive end that can knock down the 3 ball but has some aggression with his playing style and can create contact when he gets the ball inside. He does have a good midrange that he is able to knock down consistently. He is able to use his athleticism to get the defender going then stop and pop or make some fadeaway shots as well. He will be a player to watch moving forward.

Musandu was a player that had to play big man for his team and he excelled in that role being a force on the inside being quick to get boards. He was showing good vision and was reading the ball well off of the rim. He was beating his defender with quickness and getting himself in the right position to snatch the rebound. On the offensive end he was battling on the inside again using his quickness to beat bigger defenders. When he was matched against someone his size he was getting a lot of second chance points just out hustling them to misses. He also has a decent handle to be able to push the break at times.
