-Rhinehart should step into an increased role with John Carroll this season as a steady play-making point guard that consistently makes the right play. Rhinehart caught our eye as a playmaker with Thrill MHC that makes quick reads in side ball screen actions but is capable of knocking down shots off the ball as well. Love the development in his in-between game this season as Rhinehart is hitting stepbacks, banking in floaters, and pivoting around defenders to score with either hand.

-Rhinehart is starting to come into his own as a point guard coming off the bench for Carroll that can really create for himself and others. Rhinehart is an extremely unselfish passer in the halfcourt but can also serve as an effective connector off the ball from the wings. Expect him to carve out a bigger role for himself this season as a guard off the bench that can score and create for others in the halfcourt.

Charlie was certainly among one of the top guard performers of the day. He made scoring the ball look effortless at times during his 5 on 5 play. Started off the games knocking down shots from deep with his quick release. In transition Charlie was able to make a great impact, finishing on the receiving end of many fast breaks. Pulled out a nice hesitation move in transition a couple times to help create separation for the layup. Charlie was very versatile from an offensive standpoint during the game. He hit his open three pointers and attacked closeouts when he had to put the ball down. Really dominated in open space through the afternoon and proved he has a facet of ways to score the ball.

-Came away impressed by the improved handle and confidence in his play-making ability as Rhinehart served as a pretty dynamic lead guard for his Thrill HOH team. Rhinehart handled ball pressure and double teams well both in the halfcourt and in transition, always keeping his head up to deliver on passing reads that popped up on his drives. The improved handle has allowed him to get into his pullup jumper more fluidly off the bounce, adding in another dimension to his game that makes him more difficult to guard. With the graduation of several key pieces in the backcourt, I’m looking forward to seeing what type of role Rhinehart is able to carve out at JC as we head into his junior season.
