-Brown continues to impress our scouts as a creative point guard that scored in double figures in all but 9 of his summer league games this offseason. Brown changes the height and speed of his dribble well to get to his spots in the halfcourt, makes good decisions attacking closeouts on the perimeter on the second side of an action, and is probably at his best scoring the basketball in transition at the rim. If he can utilize the paint touches that he generates to create for corner shooters or make the play to the drop big, he will become even that much more difficult to guard.

Steering a narrow win for DC Premier ‘s 15U on Saturday morning, Brown continued to build on a strong June scholastic period while showing long-term upside that’s right there with most any BCL guard in his class. A lanky playmaking guard with standout positional size, Brown was constantly in attack mode but managed to consistently stay under control in the process. He saw the floor well when cut off on his drives and showed a willingness to attack through contact despite lacking much strength on his youthful frame. Brown will be new to the varsity level this year but should make his mark quickly and could have D1 coaches beginning to monitor his progress before much longer.

Daniel Brown is a 2029 Guard playing for John Carroll. He’s an advanced scorer for his age, being able to get off plenty of shots in a multitude of ways. He has a knack for scoring at all 3 levels and can do it off the bounce or off the catch. He had 19 points in his team’s matchup vs. St. Andrews.

-Explosive downhill driving guard that is constantly probing the defense and creating advantage situations for his team. Love his finishing bag around the rim and in the paint to score effectively in the halfcourt. Defensively he is a difficult guard to score on when he’s locked in, poking out live dribble turnovers and switching ends quickly for his team.

-Currently the best prospect on a good JC JV team, Brown is a dynamic scoring guard that uses his defense to ignite his offense. The shooting started off slow but he finished with 10p 5s in the 1H alone, building on that progress to show the full compliment of abilities in the 2H. Brown was active defensively both on the ball and in passing lanes, scored several times on coast to coast drives, had a beautiful crosscourt skip to the wing shooter on the weak side, threw a nice assist over the top to his big on the BLOB, and hit several acrobatic floating layups off the window. His best sequence of the game was when he responded with a missed layup by racing back in transition to force a miss, grabbed the rebound, and took it C2C to finish through the contact at the other end of the floor for the AND1 lay. Bright future ahead for Brown if he continues to develop.
