Young is a lanky wing with good size who helped Team Thrill post an undefeated 8-0 record on the Under Armour circuit this spring. Possessing intriguing physical tools, he combines length, athleticism, and versatility that project well at the next level. Young is a better than average perimeter shot maker who can stretch the floor from beyond the arc, and he has the size and toughness to slide over and play some small-ball four when needed. He rebounds effectively from the wing position, runs the floor well, and uses his athleticism to impact the game on both ends. While the upside is evident, the next step in his development will be becoming more consistently productive and assertive offensively.

Young is a lanky combo forward with good size on the wing and intriguing versatility. He is a capable perimeter shot maker with range and has shown clear improvement as a scorer. He rebounds well and can slide to the small-ball four, where his size, skill, and mobility create matchup problems. An above average athlete, Young continues to trend upward, and his combination of length, shooting, and versatility makes him a strong candidate to see his stock rise in the coming months.

Really nice day of work for the 6-foot-7 forward before hitting the road to compete with PVI in Chipotle Nationals tomorrow. He looked in peak form coming off pindowns, lifts as the ball touched the paint or reversed sides and confidently raised up to drill nearly double-digit threes between the two scrimmages. Young also used his length as the middle man in Thrill’s full court press paired with sound anticipation to step in front of passes and generate quick looks for others off turnovers. This Thrill team doesn’t feature many deadeye shooters from beyond the arc who can operate off the ball like Young, which will make his value and production mean that much more when circuit play rolls around.

Young is a lanky combo forward with good size and versatility. He is a better-than-average shot maker with range out to the three-point line, rebounds his position, and can play either forward spot effectively. An above-average athlete, he brings upside as a developing prospect and is poised for a much larger role with the Panthers next season.

Paul VI is a team that has an abundance of players that fulfil roles every game. And this DeMatha game was Brandon Young turn. Brandon enters the game in the 1st quarter after Ryan Bahr picked up two quick fouls. Came right in the game and stroke a corner 3. Next possession grabs an offensive rebound and score on a putback. Give him 5 points in less than 45 seconds. Second half Brandon continue his solid play using his length play sound positional defense and continue his offensive punch hitting another 3pt jumper and finish on a transition layup. If Brandon continues to give this kind of effort going into the playoffs. PVI is going to be hard to beat. Finish the game with 10 points.

Another prospect poised for an expanded role with the Panthers next season, Young is a lanky combo forward with good positional size. He is a capable open-shot maker from beyond the arc, rebounds his position, and shows better-than-average athleticism. The high academic prospect has the physical tools and developing skill set to prove there is clear upside as his role continues to grow.

Young is going to play a factor similar to Mitchell Jr. in the sense of embracing his role. Playing with the senior backcourt of Brown and Smith Jr. can make his life exponentially easier as long as he’s in the right spots at the right time according to their actions. Creeping up to 6-foot-8, Young has a fluid jumper off the catch that he showcased once again yesterday that included one triple from the corner in the first half followed by multiple turnaround jumpers from the high-post in the second half as he acted as the flasher for the PVI’s zone offense. If Young is converting with efficiency like he was yesterday, continues to learn how to use his gifts on the defensive side to disrupt, and become more of a presence on 50/50’s his value will rise steadily both for the Panthers and for himself as an individual.

16p 7r 1a 1b (6/8 FG) vs WCE

Not a flashy or overly athletic prospect but Young showed the shooting ability in a short-handed win over West Coast Elite. He came off the bench to collect 4 rebounds and a block within the first few mins, eventually finding his rhythm beyond the arc on C+S 3s. Young closed out a possession with a weakside block, outletted to a guard, and got it back for the go-ahead 3 late in the 2H for his best sequence of the game. With the shooting ability at his size with decent length and a frame that can add more weight– if he develops more quickness and ball-handling ability, he can show more of what he can do on the perimeter and add to his value at the next level.
