Matz is set to be one of the better prospects in the Baltimore County Public School landscape and after a productive junior campaign paired with a nice spring/summer with Team Thrill MHC, he should be set to make a run as a potential POY candidate. He prides himself with his shot making, but he’s improved steadily as an athlete who can finish above the rim on straight-line drives. It’s also helped him be more of a presence as a weak side defender who can rotate and alter shots at the bucket. He brings a high IQ to both ends, but is very effective from the top of the key or high-post where he can operate off 2-to-3 dribbles and deliver passes on target to cutting teammates or ones spotting up in the corners.

Matz was a threat from behind the arc and excels as a set shooter with a fluid release. He found ways to get rebounds. Matz is in between a few positions but is a threat to be a mismatch threat on offense. He should see a ton of academic small colleges involved with him.
