This article will cover the incoming talent that will be donning new threads within Virginia this season, while our PH MD article covering MD/DC can be found here. Class of 2026 Transfers   [player_tooltip player_id='1782692' first='Ripp' last='Kodi']: Ireton (VA) to Highland (VA)   -Kodi leaves a primary scoring gap in Ireton but steps into a new role with a Highland team in the midst of a major reload that can really use his perimeter shooting, versatile defense, and scoring     [player_tooltip player_id='1633067' first='Marcis' last='Ponder']: West Oaks (FL) to Gillion Academy (VA)   -The Florida St commit presents a matchup nightmare for local and national teams as a menacing forward prospect that blocks shots, finishes plays above the rim, and can come up with big rebounds in traffic. Loved seeing his game become more explosive as Ponder has shed at least 20 lbs since making the move up to the DMV.     [player_tooltip player_id='2134650' first='Jayden' last='Joseph']: West Oaks (FL) to Gillion Academy (VA)   -Joseph brings his table-setting abilities to Northern VA as a traditional PG that understands how to attack gaps in the defense and processes his passing options very quickly off the bounce.     Aaron McGhee: West Oaks (FL) to Gillion Academy (VA)   -One of my favorite 2-way prospects to watch, the Arkansas St commit gets it done at both ends of the floor as a physical athlete that will not be beat to spots. He can knock down open jumpers, get to the rim, and gives his team a versatile defensive threat that can guard 1-3 at a high level.     Willie Burnett: West Oaks (FL) to Gillion Academy (VA)   -The Mississippi St commit moves to Northern VA to join Gillion as an explosive scorer at the CG position that can create his own shot, slash his way to the rim, and play both on or off the ball thanks to a consistent 3 point jumper     [player_tooltip player_id='1782663' first='Devin' last='Toatley']: St. John's (DC) to Bethel (VA)   -The dynamic slashing point guard improved his jumper in a key role for the Cadets last season, expect him to be a big part of Bethel's outcomes this season as he should have plenty of scoring and play-making responsibilities as Bethel enters year 1 on the Grind Session under a new coach.     [player_tooltip player_id='2552618' first='Dhruv' last='Iyer']: Carroll (DC) to Bethel (VA)   -Iyer gives Bethel a dependable ballhandler off the bench that can hit open looks, get teammates involved, and provide POA defense at a much-improved level     [player_tooltip player_id='2620491' first='Diego' last='Joy']: Jackson Reed (DC) to St James (VA)   -Joy will step into a consistent role for the newly-formed EYBL team as a scoring guard that has made some significant strides as a playmaker that sees the floor     Class of 2027 Transfers   [player_tooltip player_id='1963395' first='Cameron' last='Prosper']: Hayfield (VA) to Bethel (VA)   -Tough blow for a Hawks team that valued his size and growing skillset but Prosper should flourish in a starter's role with Bethel as a W/F tweener that can really guard, rebound, put it on the floor, and score in the halfcourt. Prosper also re-classified into the 2027 class with the move as Bethel gears up for year 1 on the Grind Session     [player_tooltip player_id='2640022' first='Colby' last='Murphy']: Cesar Chavez (DC) to Bethel (VA)   -Murphy's transfer gives Bethel a dynamic downhill driving guard that can score at a high level in the halfcourt while also contributing as a rebounder and versatile defender that should be able to cover 1-3     [player_tooltip player_id='2108094' first='Braydon' last='Young']: Mt. St. Joseph (MD) to PVI (VA)   -Young's transfer from Baltimore to Chantilly turned some heads, the move gives the Panthers a floor-stretching W/F tweener that can put the ball on the floor and guard multiple positions     [player_tooltip player_id='2458557' first='Jayden' last='Mills']: McNamara (MD) to Ireton (VA)   -Should be in line for a bigger role for the conference rival as a skilled W/F tweener that can shoot, pass, and rebound the basketball at a high level. One of the more underrated prospects in the area     [player_tooltip player_id='2353555' first='Malachi' last='Terrell']: Gonzaga (DC) to St James (VA)   -Would likely have been the top dog at Gonzaga but should play a key role for the newly-formed STJ program as a dynamic scoring PG that makes the most of his minutes and touches     Kamontae Griffin: Word of God (NC) to Gillion (VA)   -Griffin's transfer should give Gillion a steady play-maker at the PG position that can create his own shot or set the plate for his teammates after a sophomore season that saw him split time at St. Frances and Word of God.     [player_tooltip player_id='2194780' first='Aaron' last='Bryant']: Paul VI (VA) to Gillion (VA)   -His late transfer was a shocker at the buzzer but Bryant should give Gillion a lights-out shooter that also possesses some underrated play-making chops, interested to see how he is used in this new role     [player_tooltip player_id='2458579' first='Jacoby' last='Briscoe']: Riverdale (MD) to St James (VA)   -Dynamic scoring wing that should carve out a big role for himself at the StJ as a prospect that can shoot, create his own shot, finish at the rim, and provide some defensive versatility in what I expect will be a breakout season on a national stage     [player_tooltip player_id='2353569' first='Makiah' last='Gray']: Coolidge (DC) to Bethel (VA)   -Tough loss for the Colts as the 2-year starter joins a Bethel program under new management, will be interesting to see how he is used in the backcourt as a pure point guard that sees the floor at a high level but can call his own number when needed     [player_tooltip player_id='2454553' first='Ja'Ron' last='Rucker']: Riverdale (MD) to O'Connell (VA)   -Should give the Knights a much-needed boost on the wings as a solid W/F scoring prospect that can put the ball on the floor, open up driving lanes with his shooting, and provide some defensive versatility. Already has posted some standout performances against out of area teams in preseason tournaments     Brian Mitchell: Varina (VA) to Paul VI (VA)   -Mitchell fills a need on the wing for the Panthers as a physical downhill slasher that can also really make defenses pay with his 3 point shooting ability     Uzziah Morton: Harlem (SC) to Bethel (VA)   -The big dog arrives in Northern Virginia ready to anchor his new team in the low post as they step into Grind Session competition as a physical rebounder, shot-blocker, and play-finisher around the basket     Class of 2028 Transfers   Chum Kodi: Georgetown Prep (MD) to Highland (VA)   -Gives Highland a skilled young big prospect that could eventually develop into a productive stretch big prospect     Outgoing Transfers:   Khyair Phillips: Ireton (VA) to McNamara (MD)   -Gives the Mustangs a young guard with a ton of upside that can shoot, get to the rim, and defend either guard spot     Andrew Ross: PVI (VA) to Sidwell (DC)   -Ross will infuse some high level perimeter shooting and secondary play-making into a Quakers' team that needs both with it's starting backcourt moving onto college     Will Bryant: O'Connell (VA) to Mt Zion (MD)   -Gives the Warriors a perimeter shooter with good positional size on the wing     Beau Daniels: Paul VI (VA) to Montverde (FL)   -Tough blow to the reigning WCAC champs as Daniels bolsters the frontcourt depth of first year coach Steve Turner at Montverde, Daniels should give the Eagles a consistent rebounder/scorer/play-finisher in the paint
