Expert Analysis
Eric Wallace | Prep Hoops Scout
The junior wing brings good positional size and length, along with developing versatility on the offensive end. Prosper has inside-out scoring ability—he can knock down open perimeter shots, attack and finish in the lane, and shows comfort scoring on the block against smaller defenders. He plays with a solid feel for the game and continues to expand his overall skill set. Set to compete with DC Premier on the Under Armour circuit this offseason, he will have a strong opportunity to elevate his recruiting profile.

Team AKT had an x-factor this weekend in Cam Prosper. The reclass and new Bethel Academy member showed his worth over the weekend in Atlantic City. He was on the glass hard for AKT, hauling in rebounds to cap possessions or generate new looks for the offense. I liked the way the Cam took pride in protecting the basket. While he did a good job sliding over from the help position to stop rim-runs, Cameron also did well with defending the ball inside the paint. He drew a couple of tough matchups inside this weekend but he held his own with strong disciplined defense near the rim. Cam away with some blocks and some well-defended layups on opposing big men. Cam also showcase some touch offensively, knocking down short jumpers in the midrange and even extended behind the line a few times.

He is a high-level athletic wing. He guards 1-4 very effectively and has improved jump shot from 17-19 feet. He is a mismatch nightmare, because he posts up smaller guards and get past a bigs trying to guard him on the perimeter. Cameron brings a lot of versatility to the table.

-One of my favorite finds from this past season, we should see a boost in his skill development as he has quit football to focus on basketball. Prosper defends at an incredibly high level, using his length and quickness to guard 1-5 in his league. His off ball defensive instincts lead to him intercepting passes that don’t have enough zip on them. Offensively he’s raw but is a capable offensive rebounder that can slash his way to the rim and find the open man.

-Lone standout offensive performer for a Hayfield team that ran into a physical buzzsaw of a team in Legacy as the played their 5th opponent in 6 days. Loved that even facing a double digit deficit, Prosper sprinted back to collect a volleyball spike of a block in transition after missing a 3 at the other end of the floor. Prosper covers a lot of ground for the Hawks defensively and can scale up or down a position at the defensive end to contest shots at all 3 levels. Had a great cut for an extension lay through the contact in the halfcourt late through the 4Q, hitting the ensuing FT to make it a 13-point game.

-Prosper didn’t have a great day finishing around the rim in a loss to Friendship Tech, but he possesses an intriguing blend of skills as a 6’6 wing that can run the floor, defend multiple spots, get downhill on 3/4s, and finish above the rim. His motor and feel have improved, a good sleeper prospect to monitor in the 2026 VA Class.
