The high school season is winding down already. We are closing in on the last 3 weeks before district tournaments start. The Mr. Basketball race is still pretty open. Definitely more open than in the most recent seasons. Let's take a look at the front runners for the award after 2/3 of the regular season.

The Favorite:

[player_tooltip player_id='2726831' first='Jake' last='Feldhaus'], Madison Central - Jake has been having a great season and Madison Central is ranked as the #1 or #2 team in the state, depending on where you look. The combination of a strong individual season, a strong team season and a Kentucky famous last name may be too much for anyone else to overcome.

The Second Favorite:

[player_tooltip player_id='1558733' first='Reece' last='Davidson'], North Laurel - Reece has been playing at a high level for 2 years and had a monster game at Rupp Arena last March. Davidson is really good but his numbers are a little behind Feldhaus'. Those two go head to head on 2/12 at North Laurel. Should be a big time game.

The Third Favorite:

[player_tooltip player_id='1359130' first='Jonathan' last='Moss'], Daviess County - Daviess County has not lost a game to an in-state foe yet this season. Moss has been having a big time season as an individual too. Averaging 24 points per game with 54/44/89 shooting splits is pretty remarkable. The Panthers played all over the state in December. I'm just not sure that his name will ring loud enough with voters to pass Feldhaus.
