About Jake
Expert Analysis

Jake came from relative obscurity to the likely Mr. Basketball over the last 2 years. After spending two seasons at Mason County, Feldhaus transferred to play for his uncle at Madison Central and has been one of the toughest players to guard in the entire Commonwealth. Headed to Belmont for college, Jake is a high floor player thanks to his great motor and his ability to score the ball inside and out.

Making his case for Mr Basketball, Feldhaus has been dominant at both ends of the court to start his senior season. One of the best athletes in Kentucky, Feldhaus was living above the rim in this one. In the first quarter Feldhaus made a tough catch on an outlet pass that quickly resulted in a slam dunk. Madison Central is playing with ultimate confidence as a team right now and that shows with how crisp the ball moves from end to end in transition and side to side in the half-court. Feldhaus had an alley-oop layup finish and knocked down a top of key 3-pointer off nice offensive sets. I also liked that Feldhaus created his own offense on putback layups with multiple gritty buckets off misses. Feldhaus looks like a prospect who has a chance to play heavy minutes right away at Belmont.

A bruising big man who continues to get better and better out on the wing, Jake is one of the front runners to win Mr. Basketball this season. He’s already signed with Belmont and should be a tremendous fit for the Bruins next season.

Jake made a massive impact for Central after transferring in from Fleming County last season. With his pedigree as the son of a Kentucky legend and the stats he should put up this year, it will be hard to deny him the title of regional player of the year. But the competition in the 11th is very stiff this year. Feldhaus is already committed to Belmont.

Jake Feldhaus Jake Feldhaus 6'6" | PF/C Madison Central | 2026 State #185 Nation KY can do just about everything on the floor, and rebounding is one of those strengths. He rounded out the top 10 last season at 11.3 rebounds per game. He has a strong knack for reading the ball off the rim and tracking it down anywhere on the floor. Combine that with his size, reach and athleticism, and he becomes a dangerous presence on the boards. He’s active, covers ground well and doesn’t take plays off.

One of the biggest risers we’ve ever seen, Jake went from unranked to top 5 and committed to one of the country’s best mid major schools when he committed to Belmont. Feldhaus was primarily known for his golfing abilities before he transferred to Madison Central from Fleming County last summer. As a basketball player, Jake is just starting to scratch the surface of his potential.

One of the top prospects in Kentucky’s 2026 class, Feldhaus was on another level in a tight contest with Centerville that went down to the wire. Showing impressive poise on the ball, Feldhaus can attack off the dribble while staying on balance and not rushing a shot or pass decision with defenders swarming him. Athletically, Feldhaus can play above the rim with his length and explosiveness and had a couple monster breakaway slam dunks. Late in the game Feldhaus hit multiple 3-pointers from 25+ feet to keep his team alive. No surprise that Youngstown State quickly offered Feldhaus after this game and I expect more offers to come his way soon.

Jake was the biggest stock riser of the high school season as he went from off the rankings to top 4 and showing flashes of being the top name in the class. The next month should be good for Feldhaus as he’s had a quiet Spring of AAU and should thrive back with Madison Central where he gets the most touches on the roster and more opportunity to show his game.
