Moving into the top spot in this update is Gaines, who followed up a sensational sophomore campaign where he led 6A in scoring with a solid run on the EYBL with NW Rotary Rebels. He also performed well in elite camps during the fall and that led him to earning his first two scholarship offers from Western Oregon and Portland State and there's plenty of interest from other schools. He's a candidate for not only Mt Hood Conference but state POY honors.

An argument could still be made for Bongen as the #1 player in he class - after all, he's currently nationally ranked in the Class of 2027 by ESPN. Perhaps call it #1a in this update as there's no question the collegiate potential of the 6-foot-2 guard remains extremely high and his recruitment has reflected that with heavy interest coming from Oregon State and a number of other schools. The First Team 6A All-Tournament team selection is taking his talents to Central Catholic in 2025-26.

Barhoum - the top three-point shooter in the state last season - remains steady at #3 after a summer of continued growth physically and with his game. While the ability to knock down shots from the logo remains for the Clackamas junior guard, he worked hard on getting to the basket and also creating for others - something he'll have to do more of this season for the Cavs. He too earned scholarship offers in the off-season, from Western Oregon and Portland State, and has interest from other schools.

One of the highest risers this off-season is Leunen, whose continued development physically and skill-wise brings him up into the top five. Standing 6-foot-6 and still growing, he showed himself as an inside-outside threat during the spring and summer and has excelled in elite camps and showcases this fall, earning First Team All-Event honors at The Expo: Oregon. A big junior at Ridgeview lies ahead for Leunen where he's one of the favorites for IMC POY honors.

Thompson's rise continued this off-season as he turned heads on the PUMA circuit. The 6-foot-2 Southridge junior has gotten more athletic but has continued to exhibit the all-around play on both ends of the floor that has started to earn him the college recruiting attention he deserves. The first scholarship offer should be coming for Thompson his upcoming year as he'll be taking on a leadership role for a Skyhawks team aiming for a long run in the post-season.
