1st Team
Perhaps no player in the 2027 class has improved as much since starting high school as Leunen. He continues to grow physically & in skill set. Had a dominating year at the 5A level. Currently holds a D1 offer from Portland State, we expect that number to rapidly increase as the spring & summer unfold.

In a matchup highlighted by the coaching matchup of two former Duck greats, it was the younger Leunen that shone the brightest. The 6-foot-7 junior was absolutely dominant offensively both inside and out, getting baskets in the paint, attacking off the bounce from the perimeter but also knocking down jumpers including two threes. Leunen was dominant on the glass as well and further showed his versatility with his passing. At the end of the day, he finished with 33 points, 14 rebounds, and 5 assists as Ridgeview defeated Pleasant Hill, 62-47.

After earning First Team All-IMC honors the junior has grown to almost 6-foot-7 and has added strength to his frame. He’s a dual-threat offensively with the ability to score both inside and out, and as the returning league Defensive Player of the Year he makes his mark defending the rim as well. One of the top players at the Expo: Oregon this fall, he picked up his first scholarship offer from Portland State and more should be on the way. (JT)

Luenen is a player with size who can stretch the floor, work on the glass, and play with good defensive awareness. Did a great job shifting over in the help side to close passing lanes when teammates doubled the ball, communicated and stayed in position on that end, and did a great job working to gain position on the glass on both ends. Made a handful of little key plays throughout the day, blocking a 3-point attempt toward the end of a quarter, and tipped an offensive board to himself off a free throw, then quickly found a pass to space with the defense still scrambling.

One of the highest risers this off-season is Leunen, whose continued development physically and skill-wise brings him up into the top five. Standing 6-foot-6 and still growing, he showed himself as an inside-outside threat during the spring and summer and has excelled in elite camps and showcases this fall, earning First Team All-Event honors at The Expo: Oregon. A big junior at Ridgeview lies ahead for Leunen where he’s one of the favorites for IMC POY honors.

At 6’8 with length, Leunen was relentless on the glass and an effective rim protector, blocking shots with timing. He ran the floor well in transition and showed flashes as an on-ball defender. Already holding a Portland State offer, his size and skill combination make him a highly intriguing prospect. (AG)

Leunen continues to grow physically and the rising junior showed improved strength in the paint and more development with his outside shooting and ability to attack from the perimeter in both playing AAU ball with Elite 24 and with his Ridgeview High School squad. An area where we noticed more improvement was with his work on the boards, bearing resemblance to the game of his father and coach Maarty during his playing days.
