CBG Under Radar Prospects Part 2 Class of 2027

The second part of the Under the Radar 2027 report that has recently caught my attention. These young prospects may not be widely recognized yet, but they have delivered strong performances that set them apart with their play this weekend at the CBG JUCO/PREP/HS event in the Richmond. Their impressive displays suggest significant potential and warrant closer observation moving forward.    A rangy WF with a smooth perimeter shot. Very good student is a solid defender. Jumped off the page this weekend as an active, heady, versatile defensive presence for Clinton Grace Christian this weekend. Isaiah causes problems for the opposition w/ his +length & fluidity as a mover. Nimble & deceptively bouncy WF with ability to stretch defenses with a 3-pt touch.     Smooth lefty 2/3 wing. Scored it well in transition. Possesses a finishing package with either hand at the rim, hit shots off the bounce beyond the arc through contact in paint. Name to track in the ‘27 class. Dunked on opponents in traffic and showed he could also initiate half court offense making sound decisions with the ball.     Colby was one of the prospects that it was refreshing watching the young man compete with such urgency and want to on both ends of the floor. Using a strong frame to his advantage, he lived on the glass this past weekend, gobbling up rebounds at a high rate. He also provided a steady defensive presence guarding 1 thru 4 positions while finishing put backs regularly throughout games play. Showing offensive chops knocking the mid-range shot when the opportunity presented itself.     A huge physical big man with improving offensive skills. The South Carolina native is surprisingly mobile in transition, a regular visitor on the glass and plays with a high motor and physicality. The Big Man eliminates shots around the rim of opposing guards, bigs an agile rim running opponents with authority. Impressive ability to finish either shoulder on mid post catches. Uzziah has transferred to Bethel Academy in Leesburg, VA.     Has some intrigue potential as a switchable athletic defender. Blessed with a strong frame, big hands, and a long wingspan, he can be a defensive menace. On offense he doesn't need much of a step to finish strong around the rim. He has put some work offensively on his jump shot and there were glimpses of this at CBG where he hit a fair share of jump shots (particularly on the left side of the court).     Originally from the London UK… Dante is a long rangy physical screen-setting, commanding the boards, grown more coverage-versatile and spacing the floor. Does a ton now, think there's upside for much more. One of the most efficient bigs watched this weekend at the CBG event. The 6'10 stretch big showed touch/feel. Otite also showed to be comfortable scoring with his back to the basket, pick and roller, lob threat, and serviceable mid-range shooter. Dante is another prospect to monitor in the Elite Prep School League this year.     Ben was one of the “BIGS” that caught my eye with his sheer size at 6'10 athleticism. The big man was able to be an effective prospect in using his size to finish around the basket, carve out space, protect the rim, and be active on the boards. It will be interesting to see how he continues to develop his overall feel, as he is one to jot down and continue to monitor this year in the Elite Prep School League. Scored 28 points in his last game against Lake Raleigh Prep.     Mayemik showed one thing, is that he is wired to score the ball. He was terrific in creating off the dribble, finding ways into the defense, finishing over and around defenders, and knocking down shots. He will be a name that you hear a lot more this year. Stephen possesses a good feel, aggressive driver that gets to his spots and scores fluidly off the pull-up or in the paint. Assertive and impactful despite playing this weekend for the CBG Elite team.     A skilled young prospect that helped lead the charge for the CBG Elite team. Abram has good size at 6'6 and was able to make his presence felt in a variety of ways. Whether it was creating and getting in the paint, posting up and scoring in the post, or stretching the court with his outside game, Schrinel showed a nice understanding and a strong scoring arsenal as a young player playing the for CBG Elite team. Also liked how he saw the floor to find open teammates and his activity on the boards.
