CBG Under Radar Prospects Part 1 Class of 2027

This year's 2027 group of prospects showcased exactly why the under-radar prospects—each displaying leadership, poise, and the ability to elevate everyone around them. From playmakers who controlled tempo and created for others, to dynamic scorers who could take over when needed, this collection of guards and big men represented the some of the top prospects at the CBG JUCO/PREP/HS event had to offer. Here's a closer look at some of the top prospects who separated themselves from the pack in Richmond this past weekend.    Quimar is a physical PG who uses his strength to get to the basket at will. He has a good IQ putting his team in the best position to score with his passing ability. Displayed his shooting ability as well hitting a few deep 3s and some tough mid-range pull ups. Quimar attends Miller School.     Showed off his sneaky athleticism this weekend in Richmond. This “slender-framed” big man runs the floor well and possesses an innate ability to block and change shots. Daniel is dangerous when running in transition and gets off the floor and above the rim quickly. He is still developing and rounding out his overall offensive skill set, but the combination of his ability to screen and roll, run the floor, block shots, and make plays off of rebounds makes him very intriguing to college coaches of all levels.     A 6'3” guard with a shredded frame + natural scoring talent who routinely makes difficult shots look easy. Affects the game w/out having the ball in his hands as a primary option. Montague, utilizing timing to disrupt opponents' rhythm as a trap defender, attacking the glass for extra possessions, & fills the lanes in transition with authority (multiple physical finishes).     Santos is a new name on the scene has good length and athleticism, mixes scoring and distrusting nicely. Plays with pace using physical strides and shifty footwork navigating traffic. Nice variety of moves to finish including spin moves, nice touch on the runner, hits the dribble pull-up with efficiency and finishes with both hands at the rim. A threat from all levels and a reliable decision maker. Dogged defender whose length allows him to create turnovers with deflections as well.     A transfer from Clarksburg HS. Long & mobile athlete with touch at the rim, plus he's flashed floor spacing potential. A high-upside prospect, the Clarksburg product with strength is starting to put it all together. Anthony is a long athlete & smooth scorer. He's flashed a diverse shot profile, along with plenty of shot-creation versatility.     Keaton operates well in his role for Trinity Episcopal. Low maintenance big with length and mobility. Plays with nice energy, battles defensively, and runs the floor hard in transition. Should only continue to develop with time and reps. Hitting threes, attacking the midrange, and finishing above the rim in transition. Good all-around defender with sharp instincts. Comfortable guarding all three front court positions.     Quinton is a quick ball handle and good quickness coupled with vertical explosiveness. He can bully many defenders while also possessing a quick handle and good quickness. He uses quick crossovers, smooth strides when attacking space. Quinton has a nice touch and is a very good finisher using spin moves. He finishes with both hands at the rim and has a deft touch. He's a very good passer-by as well and is productive in a variety of roles. Quinton is a solid rebounder from his PG position and can rip a rebound high out of the air and go coast to coast with very good quickness. He plays with a great motor and can defend multiple positions effectively.     Lights out shooter. Knock down the 8 threes in 2 games against top notch competition in the CBG event this past weekend. I'm becoming more steadfast that Pinn is a must-see scoring guard for coaches to watch in the Richmond area. By the time fall hits, if he continues to play at this pace. His overall impact can't be overstated. He has the potential to be a one man show for Godwin HS this year. Obi is the one that keeps everything organized and together. He puts teammates in the best situations to be successful as the head of the offense. While his team management and distribution are his best assets, he can be really full it up and put the ball in the basket ladies and gentlemen!
